It works as described. It took us a bit to get the poultry fence we bought to use with it up but once we secured it proper, it has been very effective in keeping hens in and predators out. It took us a bit to figure out how to "chomp" the red line on the fence for a strong zap. My daughter was testing it and let me know she could hold onto it with no problem. I went out and simply moved the teeth of the red a bit and then she felt it in a big way.

Nice unit. Easy to install but requires copper grounding rod to be effective. The cows respected the charged fencing and that was the desired effect. would buy it again.

Charger worked great for 2 weeks and now no longer works. Battery fully charged at 14.49 volts, 10 hours per day in full sun and no charge. LED status light flashes but there is no charge. Seller reached out and offered a full refund/replacement. Very thankful, realizing sometimes things go wrong but nice to know things can be made right again.

I ordered 3 of these. One works great. One worked for about 30 days then quit and one never worked. I would try a different brand if I had this to do over.

Worked fine with a good snap for a single wire perimeter fence around 3/4 acre, but did not work for a 74' poultry net fence, just too weak barely give enough jolt for discomfort. I do like that I comes with a solar panel and 12v lead acid gel battery, and has an auto on during daylight mode, always on even at night mode, and off. It has the pulse current, so plenty safe. Seemed to recharge battery and have enough capacity for 24/7 during a few rainy days. Wish that I had bought a 1joule+ for use with poultry fencing.
