The ad didn’t show whether this kit included solutions for calibrating this pH meter. I’m glad to say that it does. There’s 3 packages with powder that you can mix in distilled water to make solutions of pH 4, 7 and 10.1 to calibrate this meter. The instructions say that this meter came from the factory calibrated but that you should calibrate it again. My main concern is that the app, which is YINMIK App has a message that says “YINMIK collects location data to enable transferring data by bluetooth and tracking bluetooth device data, even when the app is closed or not in use.” You have to accept this or else the app won’t work. For this alone I’m giving this device a 3. Why do they need to track me even when I’m not using the device. Why do they need to track me at all?

I'm excited about the potential of this 8-in-1 Soil Test Kit, which promises to provide a comprehensive understanding of my soil's conditions. The concept is great, and I appreciate the inclusion of a digital soil pH meter, moisture tester, and other features.However, I do have some concerns about the app's long-term accessibility. I hope the manufacturer doesn't plan to charge for the app in the future, as that would be a significant drawback.In terms of usability, the app setup and instructions could benefit from significant improvements. The language and navigation are not as clear or intuitive as they could be, which made the initial setup and calibration process more frustrating than necessary.Despite these challenges, my partner and I were eventually able to get the device synced with our phone and calibrated. I grow some herbs and a few house plants. Sometimes, I'm lax in watering or adding plant food. Was curious what I did to my plants. I figured I would give this a try. This meter comes with batteries already installed (4 AAA). Setting up the app was fairly simple. Follow the instructions provided and you should have no issues. You get calibration powders. Calibrating was easy. The instructions are easy to read and understand.

Great product - by moving the display to your smart phone you get a lot more data than traditional analog soil testers.This soil tester measures eight different aspects of the soil and presents them all on the smartphone app so you can review them later. Highly recommended

It is easy to use and well built. The measurement tip is good quality. All the different measurement modes do show readings. The pH value is close to another similar device. The electrical conductivity numbers were quite different. Do not know which one is more accurate as both are not laboratory quality instruments. So in summary all I can say is all measurement modes work but cannot vouch for accuracy since I do not have a standard reference. The readings could be accurate.

I absolutely love the 8-in-1 Soil Tester from GIDIGI! I used it on both my indoor and outdoor plants and was surprised by how dry the soil was, even when I thought I had watered them enough. This kit includes everything you need: pH, moisture, salinity, fertility, soil temperature, and more, all of which can be easily viewed on your phone via a Bluetooth App. The pH and salinity meters helped me adjust my watering and fertilizing schedule, ensuring my plants thrive. The tester is accurate and easy to use, and the metal probe is durable. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced gardener, this tool is perfect for keeping your plants healthy and thriving. Highly recommend it as a gift for any plant lover!The only problem that I had with the soil meter was that it would not work on my phone. I have an Android and had to ask my husband to try it on his Apple phone. It worked right away on his phone, and he gave me an old apple phone to use. I have a lot more plants outside that I will be testing!!

I'm still learning how to use it, but I like that an app comes with it so I can easily see the readings. Right now I'm not getting the moisture reading, but there's an instructions pamphlet that will help me figure it out.

The meter, once you know what to do to make it talk to the app, works but the initial setup is a bit weird: it seems the meter enters some kind of open-connect mode where it will allow any device to talk to it without pairing with your phone/tablet on the BT connection.It is very important that you read the manual: once you look the app needed to make it work, you'll find out that it has a very low rating and all of the complaints on it are regarding it being unable to connect, it turns out that there is a very specific sequence AND a setting on the phone regarding how the app accesses location info needed to make it work. Once this is done, the app will present a lot of data on the screen, including light level, ph, moisture, "saltiness" and 'fertility' which is not clear what exactly it is measuring but seems to be a condensed index based on the other parameters.
