Although no instructions in package the installation is simple (5 Minutes). Works perfectly in 14 year old GE fridge. Is also very quiet compared to another non-OEM part I tried.

Works great, but make sure you know if you need the red or blue label. This is critical to if it will work or not with your fridge because they visually look exactly the same.

Our original icemaker started having problems so we bought this replacement and a filter plug (we use RO water so really did not need filter). Not sure which fixed the problem but we now have ice flowing like when the refrigerator was new! It is a cabinet depth GE Monogram for those that want to know. Thank you for an economical, perfectly fitting solution!

I have an older model GE fridge, of course out of warranty that suddenly stopped making ice. Frequent trips to the store for ice was becoming annoying. You tube research suggested many causes. I decided to change the icemaker hoping that was the problem. The current replacement part from GE cost 3 times as much and didn't look EXACTLY like the one in my fridge so I purchased the one on Amazon. Now when it arrived it had a different model number than stated both on Amazon and GE site but LOOKED exactly like the old one in my fridge. So I installed it using the old fill cup and in about 6 hours it started making beautiful curved completely solid cubes of ice!!! The sound of dropping ice is music to the family's ears. The ice bin is not overflowing with ice and the only sounds heard is water fill followed later by ice drop. I will buy another one to keep in reserve because the word is GE icemaker's are not durable.

easy to install and replace the old ice maker that failed. we went from having no ice to overflowing ice! the bar that tells the machine to stop making ice isn't very well designed so it just keeps making ice until it's a heaping pile!

Right away when I moved the box I could hear something rattling around. When I opened the box the ice maker was thrown in the box without protective packaging. I took the icemaker out and could hear the rattling inside the motor compartment. I took off the compartment cover and discovered that the motor was completely un-assembled. It was obvious that this was shipped from the factory unassembled as the motor wouldn't have been able to completely fall apart into multiple pieces with the cover on. Whoever assembled it just threw the pieces in, put the cover on and sent it out the door. It's obvious that this product has zero quality control. Also, having taken the cover off my old ice maker it's impossible to disassemble the motor without great effort, so this didn't happen in transport. Also, several spots on the plastic housing are chipped and damaged. You can see this in the top left corner of the picture. I did assemble the motor and installed it in the fridge as I didn't want to go through the hassle and time of returning and finding another one. Currently, it is working but who knows for how long. Be warned if you decide to buy this product you are taking your chances as the quality control is very poor and the shipping is inadequate.
