Needed a new ice maker for the original that lasted about 9 years. Installation was simple enough. After about 18 months this ice maker began leaking and making frozen stalagtites under the icemaker and Dripping chunks under it. It's now finally died a couple.months ago. It may occasionally make new ice after turning it off and on again, but its really unreliable as to when it will work again. I went with another manufacturer this time because 2.5 years is not nearly enough time for a replacement to work when the same junky asian stuff is put in the original refrigerator that lasted 9 years. Go somewhere else.

I installed this in a Frigidaire in the lower freezer. This requires a longer wiring assembly than upper ice makers that dispense through the door.Installation was simple. There are a few mounting screws and one electrical assembly clip. It takes longer to move the drawer out of the way to gain access to the back of the freezer.The ice maker takes a few hours before making ice, but it worked.Delivery was quick. Mine arrived on a Sunday a day earlier than estimated.I'm not sure why the upper ice makers cost less, but I am happy this was simple to order, easy to install, and worked.
