About this item

  • 【Remote Control】Connect your wifi hose timer and smart hub to the RainPoint Home APP via 2.4 GHz WiFi for easy remote control. Manage watering schedules and view watering history at any time to ensure smart irrigation.
  • 【Dual Programmable Zones】 Each smart hose timer zone operates independently, allowing for customized watering schedules for each zone. Set up to 6 watering schedules per zone for efficient and intelligent watering.
  • 【Flexible Irrigation】 The WiFi water timer offers 3 watering modes: Normal irrigation (1 min-12 hours), Interval irrigation (1 sec-60 mins), and Cycle & Soak (1 min-12 hours). Choose from 5 watering frequencies—daily, weekly, odd days, even days, or every 2 to 30 days—to meet all your watering needs.
  • 【Irrigation Made Smarter】 Use Smart Scenes to both automatically adjust your watering schedule based on weather conditions and to enable linkage between multiple RainPoint devices, making your garden system smarter.
  • 【Make Irrigation Easier】The seasonal adjustment feature automatically adjusts the watering duration by the percentage you set (10%-200%) each month, eliminating the need for you to repeatedly adjust your schedule. Smart water timer is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free operation via voice commands.
  • 【Expandable System】 Pair multiple smart sprinkler timers with the smart hub to create a smart irrigation system. For system stability, we recommend adding no more than 4 irrigation timers. In addition, you can add family members to the app to share the fun of irrigation.

Works great! Followed instructions and got the setup connected in initial attempt without hiccups. While I enjoy watering my plants (and I believe it also gives you the opportunity to observe and find any pests and issues), it becomes a challenge if you're not home or have the time to do that when needed. With summer heat it becomes a bigger issue, if you miss a watering cycle. Towards that I started exploring smart devices for irrigation of my garden, and got this to add another timer to my setup.Features • Control your hose timer remotely - managing watering schedule via App (RainPoint Smart+); also works with Alexa & Google Assistant • 2 zones; 6 watering plans, per zone • 2 irrigation modes + manual mode option Pros • Easy setup; Good connectivity; • Brass inlet (vs. plastic, with other models) • Spare filter & rubber washers included is a nice touch; along with Teflon tape • Excellent customer support; very responsive (to my questions regarding app compatibility, noted below) • 5-year warranty (need to register)Cons (that could be possibly improved) • If you have other RainPoint devices already, you may have to use more than 1 app. Timer works only with RainPoint Smart+ app. I had previously setup other RainPoint devices, which required HomGar app (Timer HTV213FRF, Display Hub - HIS019WRF, Soil Moisture Meter - HCS021FRF, Water Flow Meter - HCS008FRF & Rain Gauge - HCS012ARF). Now I need to have two apps to manage my irrigation setup - RainPoint Smart+ app vs. HomGar app (though all are RainPoint devices, the apps are not compatible, per customer support). • Rain delay requires you to activate it based on weather forecast (app provides local weather forecast, if needed). It would have been better, if weather forecast could be integrated to trigger rain delay or give you an alert notification and option to activate the rain delay); • Weather forecast in the app was different than other sources I monitor (and looks not accurate). Unfortunately, the weather Info screen does not show the location to verify. • Battery not included (requires 4 AA). Not a biggie, but why not include battery at this price?===========Update - Sept 24, 2024:Though the new Timer itself worked great, previously I gave 4 stars only - due to the issue that the Smart+ App was not compatible with other RainPoint devices I already had and I had to use two apps to control my RainPoint devices (see con mentioned above), .I reported this issue to RainPoint support as well.Updated to 5 stars (from 4 stars) for below reasons • RainPoint support notified me that Smart+ App was upgraded for compatibility with other RainPoint devices • I successfully migrated all my RainPoint devices (see list above) to the new Smart+ app, fairly easily, allowing me to now use a single app to manage all my RainPoint devices (eliminating the hassle of using multiple apps). • Also, RainPoint support has been a delight to work with and open to customer feedback (and improvements to the product based on that)

I have been using several of previous RainPoint TTV203B (yellow) sprinkler timers for several years with rock solid performance and very long battery lifetime. This new device the HTV210B (green) provides similar hardware but an upgraded Smart+ APP with many new and much needed features such as rain delay and seasonal adjustments which will be really helpful here in Texas where watering needs can change drastically in just one month. The easy to follow quick start instructions indicate that if you have a dual band 2.4/5.8GHz router you need to split them and name them independently. I have a TPLink dual band router with separate band names (SSID’s) and setup and pairing was a breeze and everything worked on first try. The set up procedure took only a few minutes. I have a large ranch with stone and stucco walls and have no signal dropouts as long as the little hub device is placed in an outlet somewhat between the sprinkler timer and my router. Note: the setup screen in the APP allows you to increase the transmitter power if you have range issues but I didn’t need to do that. I do miss a few features from the previous RainPoint Tula APP like the ability to water by volume (# of gallons), the ability to look at the weeks watering history and getting push notifications on my phone when the watering is complete but I was told by RainPoint that the new app is still somewhat under development and to stay tuned. I’ve had sprinkler timers from other brands and they were pretty much destroyed by the hot Texas sun but my RainPoint devices work flawlessly. I am using one zone on the timer to water a 4x8’ raised garden bed and the other zone to water my landscape with multiple drip lines along a 150’ retaining wall (see photos). I’ve been using the product for over a week now with absolutely no issues. I will try and post more details over the next month or so. Overall a great product, with solid customer service at an affordable price. Looking forward to their new moisture sensors to more fully automate my irrigation system.

Product works well, but I confess I was expecting it to use the same app as the other RainPoint devices (the yellow ones). These use the RainPoint "Smart" app so I need both apps to run the two types of controller. As for comparison, they both work well, the main differences are in the scheduling (old app does days of the week and the new app does "every 1, 2, or 3 days, or "customize" which allows for days-of-the-week), the irrigation type (old supports time and/or volume and the new is time-only), and the 'rain delay' (which I haven't quite figured out yet due to limited time and it hasn't really rained since I got it).Once I figured out I needed a separate app, the setup was easy. Operation has been good. Having only a timer function has been good enough, but it's good to test it out when you lay everything out, just to make sure you're applying the moisture you want/need in each area - plants have different moisture needs so it's helpful to have multiple units. Depending on the distribution system you use, the amount of water/minute can vary widely, so it takes a bit of a hobbyist approach - once done though, take your trip, no need to have somebody come by to water every day..On the same idea, I especially like using these to stagger the watering pattern to make sure I have decent pressure for each section and am not starving the rest of the property. I decided to run only a single 1/2" supply line out to the gardens, and with a few of these I can set up individual watering areas of 45-80 ft2 at a time - that gives me enough pressure to do drippers, soakers, or sprinklers to suit different crops in different areas. Adds time to the setup but greatly reduces the maintenance through the year.
