This product is great for someone like me who forgets to water her plants. All I have to do is set the timer and it does the work for me. Also great for when you’re on vacation! I did have a problem with the manual button not working after a few months. I reached out to the company and they gladly sent me a new one. Very happy with my experience!

As I have many sprinklers arranged around my property for my many plants, trees, flowers and vegetable garden, I couldn’t possibly spend all day standing outside watering them. I also work out of town several consecutive days a week and could not rely on rain to keep them watered, especially in the summer. I have 4 in my yard now, each with 2 “zones”. (It took a little while to deduce that each of the two connections on the timer control a “zone”. Not very clear in the instructions) You can set different days, times, duration of watering, etc. for each zone, which makes this one timer very tailorable to your needs. I have used these Rainpoint timers for several years and the only annoyance is that I have to remove the timer itself and bring it inside in the winter (zone 8b) so that is doesn’t freeze and break. I am not sure there is any device that will not freeze in the winter or will not break if it does freeze. Still, I do recommend this product for its reliability and ease of use.

As described. Works well. Good solid BASIC timer. Before purchasing be sure it has all the features you will need. There are two features that I now know to look for that this timer does not have...1. There is no way to turn on and off zones individually. They BOTH are either on (running on there individual set times and duration) or off (not running at all). An example of why this would be needed is... I have one zone under a porch and one zone in the yard. When it rains the yard zone doesn't need water and the zone under the porch does. 2. There is no way to just turn a zone on to test your lines or give extra water on hot days (like a flow through option). To test, you must set your time to go off a minute after the current time so you can check everything, then go back to your timer and re-set. The display is impossible to see in bright sunlight, you must shade it to see which is awkward. Im okay with this because a brighter display would probably chew up battery life too quickly. I would recommend this timer as I believe the features offered are fair for the price.

I had a similar water timer that finally gave up the ghost after the decade of good service. This one look like it would be a great replacement – similar controls, two zones. However, as soon as I installed it, it began spraying water from the joint between the brass socket and the plastic body of the timer itself. I’m good at installing plumbing components; I used plenty of plumbers tape and made sure the washer was seated correctly. I suspect that the unit I received may just have been a lemon, but I am doubtful that that joint would hold up for the long-haul, so I have returned my timer for a refund.UPDATE: It's been several months since I returned the water timer and, in that time, I have received four emails from RainPoint's customer service department, offering to replace the timer for me. This is fabulous customer service! I've upgraded my rating because of how diligent they've been in trying to fix the problem for me.

I have been using the excellent Rainpoint Sprinkler Timer with a single zone for several years to control the irrigation system I built for my wife’s greenhouse and outside vegetable beds. I purchased the model with the Brass Swivel to ensure it was rugged enough for constant multiyear use. And I must say that the performance of that unit has been outstanding. We use it in the mountains for most of the year and take it inside for the freezing months. After several years we have determined that the watering cycle needs to be significantly different for the outside beds vs the greenhouse due to solar heating and evaporation. Therefore, I was in the market to replace the single zone timer with a dual zone unit.Naturally since we both loved the easy programmability, simplicity, and fantastic reliability of our current Rainpoint single zone timer, we opted to simply purchase the two zone version of the same thing. We loved the fact that we already basically understood how to use the excellent programming system with the easy to use rotating program dial and simple and easy to read buttons. The display is plenty large and clear enough to see even for our older eyes and gives all the info you need.We opted to use the 2 zones separately but you can also use them together if you wish. You can also manually turn on and off either or both zones without disturbing the programming.Overall, we have been completely satisfied with the quality, durability, and performance of the Rainpoint Sprinkler Timer system and highly recommend it.

I have two of these hooked to two separate spigots because I have a pretty big yard. Understanding how to set the timers is not that difficult. You can adjust how long each zone runs, so I start on one end of the yard at 6 AM and finish the other end at 7:20 AM. Obviously I run each zone for 20 minutes but you can run as short or long as you please. And there’s a manual bypass button if you need to use the hose immediately. i’ve only had these for about two months so I don’t know about the longevity of the product. I’m very happy with them so far.
