Horrible I wanted it to work but it just goes off for no reason and I've tested it all over the place.

Defective. Set off false alarms. The fire department came out and it was a huge hassle. Requesting my money back. Do not buy.

The heating system in my farmhouse doesn't heat very evenly, so I have a non-electric propane space heater upstairs. As with any flame producing gas appliance, gas leaks and carbon monoxide are the two biggest hazards, so I thought I would give this a try. Excellent choice. This detector is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are excellent. The display is bright and easy to read, and gives a clear indication. Provides peace of mind when using the heater. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

This little tool has brought me some peace of mind I didn't know I needed. It really is plug-and-play but with some flexibility on how the alarms are set. When I see the CO PPM getting a little higher, I just open the windows and run the fans which makes it drop down. It also comes with helpful instructions that explain how to interpret the readings on the screen. The one downside I've found to this is that when I plug it in (both the first time and times after that), it'll beep for a while until it gets a reading and settles down. I wish it would hold off on sounding an alarm until it's had time to get that. Thankfully this has only happened once each time and is totally fine afterwards.Overall, I feel it's worth having this in my home. I appreciate the simplicity yet significance of the readings.

This thing would constantly go off for no reason. The unit I had before this one never alerted and the unit I bought to replace this has not alerted. I think I just got a defective product.

At first I thought it was defective. First time plugging it in, it beeped for about 10 minutes before I unplugged it. Then when retrying, it beeped for a few minutes with widely ranging readings and then settled on 0.Seems like it is working now. If only I had some CO to test it.

This is about as "plug and play" as it gets. Just plug it in and it works. Warning: it seems to go through a "self test" when first plugged in that will sound the alarm and show a very high number on the display. You can hit the "D" button to silence the alarm (I think that is the one) and then watch the display slowly count down to zero over a couple of minutes. Once that is done and it settles it will display the PPM of any detected gas (I tested CO, propane, and natural gas). The temp display will be inaccurate at first - it takes about 5 minutes to adjust to ambient temp but then is accurate within 1 degree to other thermometers I have. The alarm will sound once pre-determined thresholds are hit (for example with natural gas it seems to be around 45 or 50 ppm). There are also colored bars indicating status (Red, orange, green) but these are largely redundant to the PPM display (one could get by with one or the other). The unit is small enough to plug into just about any outlet, and since CO gas does not sink or float, you can put it pretty much anywhere in a room. I installed ours in the bedroom - which makes another feature VERY handy - the ability to turn off the display. (there are three settings - bright, dim, and off). Overall this is a really nice little unit that is easy to use and seems to do a good job of detecting the gases most likely to be a problem in a home setting. My only complaint is that the three buttons make no sense, so you have to keep the instructions handy to remember how to use them.
