I'm an IT manager and we use these in combination with Plantronics headsets for our 50+ employees. These work great. They are easy to attach to the phone, work as they should, and we have never had one break before and have used them for years. I do have a suggestion though...a lot of times people complain they aren't working right by not raising the handset high enough, so the call doesn't get picked up. What people don't realize is there is a setting on the lifter to raise the handset higher, and usually they have it on the low setting instead. Just a helpful tip...

After much research I purchased this, along with the headset. I've owned the pair for about a year and have not had a single problem worth mentioning. The ever-so-slightest problem I've ever had was about three times throughout the year the telephone handset had slipped down just a tiny bit, meaning that when I press the button to hang up, the phone didn't hang up all the way. In my opinion, not even worth missing a star on the review. It just works.Don't work at home without a wireless headset and this is the perfect companion for it.I would strongly recommend the combination I purchased.

After 5 years of trusty service, my old Plantronics CS50 gave way and I upgraded to the Savi w745, which is an awesome bit of kit. With my CS50 I had a 25 cent phoneline splitter with one cord going to my desk/speaker phone and the other going to the headset. It worked perfectly. But the new Savi was having none of it, so I somewhat grumpily ponied up for this HL10 handset lifter. It installed easily enough. But then there was a slight problem. In the middle of calls I would hear what sounded like 3 quiet beeps - just enough to be really distracting. It would seem to happen at random. I called Plantronics service (who are typically great, and one of the reasons I keep buying this brand) and they identified this as the "ring detection", and I guess it has to be called a "feature" and not a "bug" because you can't switch it off. This is what happens. If you are away from your phone, and it rings, and you are wearing your headset, the headset beeps letting you know you have a call so you can answer. Which I'm sure is great in some busy phone center. I'm working from home. So what happens is that when I raise my voice, or walk over to my computer screens and talk - the ring detection picks up my voice and beeps my headset. And there is no way of switching this off. If you have a loud voice, are near your phone and tend to excitability while looking at data then you are in for a world of soft repeating intermittent beeps. However the fix is easy it turns out. Plantronics did NOT recommend this. But if you flip the headset lifter upside down, you can see a little wire that runs from the lifter section where the mic is over to the motor. You can pry this up and just snip it. Its a bit drastic, but it suits my purpose. I did play around with putting a dummy 2.5mm jack into the external mic input of the lifter to see if I could switch off the internal mic, but it seemed to be smart enough to know that if there was a current going through it (I initially plugged in the audio out from my computer) it would switch away from the internal mic. If there was no power then it would revert. I couldn't find a less drastic solution than the snip. I'm spelling this out here because I couldn't find anything on the web that diagnosed and remedied this situation. But now I've snipped, its pretty fantastic. I would say it lifts correctly 99% of the time. Sometimes (and I haven't figured out why, and it doesn't happen that often) it doesn't lift. It would be great if there were a little button on the side that was a "try lifting again/manual override" for lifting. If the phone doesn't lift then you have to take the receiver off, because if you push the headset pick up button again you will end up hanging up on your caller. It doesn't happen enough to be a major quibble yet, but I'm keeping an eye on it.I'm using this with a Panasonic KX-TG6671 - which is a great design, except it has the worlds worst speakerphone. The color and the plastic etc fit right in, the lifter isn't visually conspicuous. And when it does its little trick of lifting, its really great and works well and seamlessly with the Savi headset.I would buy again and I would recommend to a friend.

We bought the Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter to go with our and have been very pleased with both devices. Using the handset lifter give you the ability to answer calls directly from the wireless headset, which is good if you spend a lot of time away from the physical phone to which the headset unit is connected.Setup was amazingly easy, just following the directions allowed us to get this installed in just a few minutes on our very inexpensive no-name speaker phone.Like our Plantronics Headset, this has passed the test of time and I would buy a new one if it failed today.Highly Recommended!CFH

I've been using a wireless Plantronics headset (CS50) for several years now and frequently found myself walking around when a call came in or when a call was ending and had to rush back to my desk to answer or hang-up the call. Finally got around to ordering this.I got the package, opened it up and installed in seconds (self-stick adhesive strips attach it to the phone under the handset and one wire plugs into my headset). Works great no matter where I am in the house (as long as my headset works). Simply press the button to turn on the headset and the handset is lifted. Pressing the button again to turn off the headset and the handset is dropped, hanging up the call.Added benefit: I don't need to find a location to put the handset when I'm on a call (not much room on my cluttered desk :-)).Well worth the expense.
