This is a cool way to create a lighting effect in your entertainment space. There are several brightness options too. This gives our umbrella a really nice glow at nighttime. It also provides some task lighting while enjoying your space at night. We have a supply of rechargeable batteries, so we are never going to be without light for long. The built in charging port is also a nice feature, as this is easy enough to remove and take inside to charge.

I put this on the umbrella of my picnic table and it is bright and works well. The light has 3 settings for different brightness levels.

I ordered this umbrella light before I realize there were much better products on the market for this. The light slips down the pole easily, You might want to consider double sided tape to keep it in place. It does not charge With the sun, You need to make sure there are batteries in it. The light is extremely bright, And you are unable to dim it. Not my favorite

This works great. It does require a ton of batteries, but we use reusable ones and it's no problem. It works well and provides a good amount of light for within our gazebo, which is where we use it. Hung it from the ceiling instead of on an umbrella, and it's a great fit. Has 3 modes- inner light ring on, outer light ring on, and both light rings on. Easy to switch between with the push of a button

Easy to place and use, however, brightness comes with the cost of buying batteries. This is a great light. Holds tight, no slipping, and provides a very nice are of light especially if you are using it on an umbrella that in the middle of a round type table. Lights last as long as the batteries you put into it. Well constructed and very nice lighting alternative.

When you think of relaxing by the pool you think of a nice soft light under the patio umbrella at sunset... That is almost true with this light. It does have 3 brightness levels but the light color is somewhere around 5000 K to 6000 K which is a very harsh color close to the color of high bay gym lights rather than pool resort light. The design is pretty good but it doesn't contain its own batteries. You have to put in your own rechargable batteries but it does offer a USB plug to recharge it. I would rather they have their own internal batteries that are sealed. That brings to mind another problem. The two battery compartments aren't waterproof. We use our patio umbrella on the shallow end of the pool we call the "beach" and since you have to attach / detach the light in order to lower or raise the umbrella, there is a 20% chance that we would drop it into the water. If that happens, your rechargeable batteries are toast. If only they went with enclosed / waterproof batteries, this would not happen but they didn't choose to in order to reduce the cost of materials. Too bad.

This light fits around a standard sized canopy or umbrella pole–the kind that are near permanent placements on a deck. The thing that really ticks me off with this product, however, is that they claim it is a rechargeable USB battery–and so it’s easy to assume (especially when looking basically at their title) that this would have a rechargeable lithium ion battery–you know, like ALL OTHER RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN EVERY OTHER CONCEIVABLE PRODUCT…NOPE, this light “requires” you to purchase & install 4 AA rechargeable batteries, then the USB cord they supply will charge them for you. To me, this is just another form of “bait and switch”. Personally, I would look elsewhere for an umbrella light, and make sure to read the fine print as to what battery, if any, they actually provide with their product.

Trying this out on my patio at night, I felt that this light provided a good level of lighting. It actually has 3 settings: Just the inner ring of lights (8 lights), just the outer ring of lights (20 lights), or all of the lights (28). This gives you 3 levels of brightness. (You just keep pressing the power button to cycle through these 3 modes. The 4th press turns the power off.)The light have a button that unclamps the 2 halves of the ring, so that you can place it around the umbrella pole. You then just snap it into place. There are spring-loaded holders in the center, which keep the light fairly tight and can accommodate a range of umbrella pole thicknesses. On my umbrella, the light did not slip downwards. The product description page states that this item required 4 AA batteries, which are not included. It says NOTHING about using rechargeable batteries. But when you get the unit and read the instruction pamphlet, it ONLY talks about rechargeable batteries. Despite this discrepancy, you can use wither regular of rechargeable AA batteries. It even comes with a USB charger cable (micro-USB to USB-A), but no charger (i.e. the item you plug into the electrical outlet). Now, you can theoretically use rechargeable batteries in ANY battery-powered device, but you'd have to recharge those batteries externally. This item has a built-in mini-USB socket, to allow the batteries to be recharged without removing them from the unit. Again, none of this is mentioned on the product description page, although on the first image, there IS a small picture of a USB connector. It's significance is not mentioned. That photo is a bit misleading, though, because it shows a USB-A connector on one end and an older barrel connector on the other end. They've apparently now updated that to micro-USB, although I have to say, micro-USB is a pretty old format, and replacement micro-USB cables are getting harder and harder to find. They should be using USB-C at this point. (They lost a star for that.)Note that you DO have to be careful to remember whether you're using rechargeable batteries or not, because if you plug in the charger cable and try to recharge regular (non-rechargeable) batteries, something bad will happen. One thing that would make this product better would be a wireless remote control to turn it on and off. I say this because in many vases, the umbrella you attach it to will be in the center of a patio table, and depending on the size of the table, it'll be hard to access this light, to turn it on and off -- especially if you place it high up on the umbrella pole (which is what most people will do.) My daughter literally had to climb up onto the patio table to turn the light on and off. For older folks, this might be impossible.Overall though, this light works well. Just be aware of where you intend to place it, and how difficult it might be for you to access the switch.
