This is the second set of solar umbrella lights I have purchased. The first was for myself and I was impressed with the ease of attachment and the difference they made both lighting up my outdoor dining area and how festive they look. The small solar panel has a large clip so it can be moved to the sunniest spots. I was so impressed with the results that I bought the next set for a client who entertaines on her back deck. Priced right so I can buy a few more to keep on hand for my next outdoor design projects.

These lights were easy to install on my huge cantilever patio umbrella. The only glitch was I could not put the solar clip on the metal arm of the umbrella because the arm was too wide for the clip to grip. Instead, I clipped it to the edge of the vent fabric at the top of the umbrella. Works fine. Would be nice if it came with a remote to set the lights. I had to stand on a utility ladder to reach the control buttons on the bottom of the clip to set the lights to the pattern I wanted. The lights shine beautifully all through the night, even after a cloudy day.

I was extremely hesitant to buy these lights based on people's reviews. I'm always surprised at what people say (for example the person who thought they actually came with an umbrella at this price and others about the harsh light or lack of light). These lights are just as advertised, a nice warm light that certainly puts enough illumination on the table in the evening without being overpowering. I put them on a 13-ft 8 ribbed umbrella. I will say that they are a little challenging to put up at first because they have 8 strands for an 8 ribbed umbrella as advertised but it is awkward to figure out where to start them so you have to attach them to one of the struts which causes them to be slightly off center. They are advertised to go on a 10 foot umbrella but each stand of lights goes almost went to the end of our 13 foot umbrella so we were happy. The ties that come with it were not quite large enough for our umbrella ribs, but I think that was because we have a high quality umbrella and the ribs were thicker than cheaper umbrellas, so we just used other zip ties. It was not a problem. That said, I'm extremely happy with this purchase (and there are very few options for umbrella replacement lights) and am glad I ignored the people who gave negative reviews.

I liked the lights and ease of installation. I wish it had a bracket for the solar collector. Attaching it to the fabric did not allow the umbrella to close. I made a bracket out of plastic. I unscrewed the umbrella cap, placed the bracket over the top, and reinstalled the cap. The solar collector clamps to the bracket.

AMENDED REVIEW: Was working outside and noticed the lights were ON!!! I don't know how, since I couldn't feel a switch beneath the rubber button, and I pressed on the area a number of times, but apparently either I did something right or they were in the ON position when arrived. ?? Either way, they are ON, I don't have to remove and replace (YAY!) and they appear to be a warm white. HAPPY NOW!Was excited at first to hang the umbrella lights. Charged the solar battery for a day and a half. (Hind sight advice: check if lights come on before hanging!) Went to all the trouble of hanging and securing the umbrella lights, by myself (no easy feat), only to find that the "ON/OFF" switch felt like an empty rubber covering with no actual "switch" underneath it! There was NO WAY TO TURN THE LIGHTS ON!Very frustrating, after doing the work all for nothing. I've asked for a replacement, so I'll know this time to charge and CHECK before hanging. We'll see how they actually work........when they actually work!

Just couldn't wait to hang the lights up. This is a 6 ribs umbrella that I have but the lights are designed for 8 ribs. I had to overlap a couple of the strings the opposite side of each other. Looks good also comes in different modes of setting. I am enjoying this product.

Pretty and bright enough to add evening ambience, but one string does not work out of the box. Wish we had tested it before installation as too much hassle to return now. UPDATE - the company contacted and are sending a whole replacement set without me having to complain or return the other ones back - absolutely fantastic customer service. We have been using the other set for a couple of weeks now though and the light is just perfect and they last well, so looking forward to the full set arriving soon.

Don’t think I would recommend this item because after stringing the lights not on an umbrella but the vanes of my small Gazebo and then clipping the solar panel on in very sunny location for two days and I then pushed the ON button and NOTHING happened- Nothing. I checked the wiring all is well. Big difficulty in checking the battery compartment you can’t get to the last two screws without the possibility of braking the hinge on the clip. I guess duct tape might work if that happened. But seriously ,there is no way to trouble shoot why they’re not working. I am disappointed and by the way I thought there was a remote NO. There’s a mode button on the back of the solar panel only. Again most disappointing.
