I bought these lights for my umbrella in the backyard. At first, it worked great and looked nice. After 3 months, the lights stopped working and flickering. Poor quality product.

It was relatively easy to install, but I don't think this was intended for large cantilever umbrellas like mine. By the time I got to the 3rd rib, it would not reach. I pulled a little too hard and this rib set of lights disconnected from the main wires. I was able to continue because the rest of the lights continue to work UNTIL I reach the 5th rib in which it was too short to reach the umbrella rib without breaking. So, I disconnected it too from the main wires. The 2 sets of lights I disconnected, I just spliced into the wires going into the plug and was able to connect the final 2 ribs. The wires are very thin, so be very careful when peelng back the plastic covering over the wires. I really like the more modern look of the lights than the mini string lights that were on previously. The weight is very light, but the quality seems fine being that they are LED which should last for quite sometime! It is a great value for these type of lights. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the frustration of it not fitting exactly and having to customize.

I just bought these and set them up today, so far they seem very good quality and pretty bright as shown in these images. When closing the umbrella the lights stay perfectly in place and no problems so far. 5 out 5!

The remote doesn’t work, the unit doesn’t turn on or off (have to unplug if you want it off), the plug in cord isn’t long enough and nearly impossible to find an extension that will work with the proprietary plug shape.10/12: since I wrote the original review the remote has suddenly started working. I still wish there was a extension of the electrical cord. Otherwise the light is very nice.

Pros: They look great on the umbrella. Kind of like a carousel! They light the table well, jus the right amount of light to play cards or enjoy conversation at night.Cons: No directions. Not intuitive install. There were not enough clips to fasten all of the lights to the umbrella. I had to supplement with zip ties, and then they clips did such a poor job of holding the lights in place that I just replaced them all with zip ties. One of the light bars doesn't work. I assume it is because the wires are so fragile that one was broken or disconnected at the factory. Lastly, they don't stay on. The plug does not fit snuggly in the outlet so it takes some finessing to get them to stay on.
