The box included no remote. I plugged it in using the supplied cable. The button on it works. But the charging stopped after a few minutes. Will not turn on unless plugged in. Garbage

Lots to like. Comes with the lights, rechargeable batteries, cable, remote, very small zip ties, velcro strap, instructions. Some things I really like: You can actuate the lights via the remote OR by pressing the silicone sealed button on the battery pack. Should you happen to lose the remote, these can still be used. The battery pack itself takes 2 proprietary sized 'made' batteries. Similar to AA's but longer. The batteries can be recharged via the USB C cable (included). The pack itself is very sturdy (not brittle) plastic. The hinges and catches are well made, hefty and solid. They will last with normal use. The LED strips are created in such a way that they come off of a central point... NOT off the battery pack. There is quite a bit of lead between the two which facilitates install the pack on the POLE, not on the fabric of the umbrella. I like that the lead is NOT too long. That way, the umbrella (open or closed) provides some weather protection for the pack. The pack itself has a nice silicone gasket seal all the way around the opening. Nice weather protection. Even the switch is sealed. Take your time installing the LED strips/leads and pack. I highly suggest that you UNPLUG the heavy pack while you position the light strings. Then gravity is not tugging the strings out of position because of the heavy pack. Pretty self-explanatory on how to install. Look at the pictures on the description to see how best to install on your umbrella. Some umbrellas have more/less ribs, some have secondary support 'daughter' ribs. A bit of consideration will help you find a look you like. The various flashing, fading light programs I don't particularly like. Super distracting if you're sitting at your patio table attempting to play cards, eat dinner, or whatever. The 'steady on' setting is the one I'll use the most, and I like that I can use the remote to lessen/brighten the setting. Over time, the batteries will need to be replaced - so when that happens, don't throw out the old ones. Instead, take them to a battery build it place and let them use the old ones as a guide to building you fresh packs. Durability: It's what I expected. Any string lights need to be light, so they can be hung. These are no exception. Do not tug, tightly wind the lights. Common sense should tell you to be gentle with them, as handling them roughly puts undue strain on the connection points. Treat them gently, install them securely, and they will be fine. I like the look (warm white) and am really glad I can adjust the brightness. Also glad that the lights and battery box are well weather protected. Good product.

Installation:It was easy to install. Took me about 30 minutes. Be careful when unwinding it. Don't pull on it. Take your time and unwind the proper way.Brightness:Has 11 brightness modes. With the brightest mode, it's plenty bright to play cards under it.Battery:Built in charger is a plus. I can even use this as a portable charger for my other batteries. Oh and speaking of batteries, it uses standard 18650's. Which, if you are like me, I have more than I can shake a stick at. They claim to be 2000mAh (2Ah). (If I get around to it, I will test to see how many amps it pulls when full brightness and calculate how long they will last).Usability:Listen here product manufacturers (and designers); we DO NOT need a plethora of light modes. We do not need our headlamps to have an SOS mode. Nobody uses it. Same with these types of lights, we don't need 8 modes. We only need 1 mode, constantly on. Period. What about multiple brightness levels? Yes, we need those. The goods news is that with the remote, you can go directly to mode 8 which is constant. Also, it remembers your last chosen brightness level. Bonus. Unfortunately, without the remote, you have to cycle through all 8 modes to get to the constant mode. And you cannot set the brightness level. Oh well, I guess I'll have to velcro the remote to the control box.One more thing:To charge the batteries in their control box, you can easily disconnect the box from the light and bring it indoor.Conclusion... these are working great for me. I'm definitely enjoying them.

I love these Umbrella Lights! These lights are easy to install around the arms that support the umbrella. The lights are remotely controlled with your choice of 8 different program modes. There are 104 LED lights which can be programmed for 6 hours ON/18 hours OFF and the lighting color is Warm White. The lights provide a great atmosphere when light but are not too bright that it’s annoying. They are a perfect accessory to compliment your outdoor space!
