The light this gives off is just enough to eat under or play cards or just relax. I think it's the perfect brightness & it's soft white in color.A couple issues though, the solar panel part that's supposed to turn and lock into the mounting piece was defective. Supposed to have two grooves for it to slide into like a threaded bottle cap but half of the thread was only done the other side. I had to actually cut carefully with a knife so I could actually lock them together so it could sit on top of the umbrella properly. Not too much of a big deal for me because I'm somewhat of a handyman but to the average person this would be an issue. One other thing is the plastic clips for mounting the lights did not fit on my 9ft Abba umbrella, again not a big deal for me, I just used black zip-ties that worked out really well.I'm being hopeful that the battery life holds up and the solar panel remains water proof, so far it's been my favorite patio addition!I will update my review if any problems arise.

While these lights work as expected and were very easy to install, the description of what you need/what you are getting is deceiving. I have a large, rectangular umbrella, approximately 9' long. My long "rib" is just shy of 6 feet long. This set of lights comes with six strings of lights, with five lights on each string ( 1 string of lights per umbrella rib).Which means, that each "rib" of my umbrella only has five lights and the on the four long ribs, the lights only extend down about halfway. But, since you can't order a set for "6" ribs, with more lights, I guess it's a non-issue with this product. If you want a set with more lights per rib, you'll have to go elsewhere.

These are a great addition to the patio. Easy to install and work very nicely. Has a Lithium battery so they stay on for a great length of time and has a nice switch to turn off and on.

With a little super glue and ingenuity I was able to make this work on a run of the mill metal patio umbrella. The clips are too big for a normal umbrella but you can glue the light housing to the inside of the clip to solve the slippage problems. Not sure how my husband attached the solar panel to the top. It involved some cursing and a trip to the hardware store but seemed simple. Looks super cool with a nice warm light.

Bought these for my patio umbrella. They took about 20 minutes to install. My umbrella did not receive the solar top but a few minutes with a power drill solved the issue nicely. The spokes of lights are a few inches shorter that those of the umbrella, but they still look good. These won't be enough light to enjoy dinner by, but they are very pretty accent lighting.

The quality is good, but does NOT fit most umbrellas. I have a Target brand umbrella. The top of it came off easily, but once you remove the cap of the umbrella, there is nothing but a giant hole (you're just looking down the shaft of the umbrella). This kit provided a screw to attach the solar cap. Well there's nothing to screw it TO. I would have had to glue it in place (which probably wouldn't have worked anyway). Returned.

So far I'm very happy with these lights. The only issue was with how it connects to the top of the umbrella. In order to install the solar panel, I had to unscrew the bolt that attached umbrella's the existing cap. The hole that the bolt left was a lot bigger than the screw they include to attach it. I just found a longer screw that would rest inside the hole for the bolt and then sealed it up with plumbers' putty. The individual strands of lights fit the ribs of my umbrella perfectly, and it puts out a really nice amount of light.
