I first ordered a dimmer with a 300 watt capacity. We have incandescent Edison type bulbs and that 300 watts wasn't enough. This works perfectly. Dim from 100% down to 10%. On/Off on the remote and a timer for up to 8 hours. It has some different modes that flash at different rates. Not sure that it is overly beneficial unless you want a psycho headache.

We added 100ft of outdoor string lights we purchased from Amazon, lights themselves where great, bright with dimmable bulbs. However the lights simply turned on and off by plugging & unplugging from the socket. Added this outdoor dimmer switch, completely changed the use of the string lights. Remote on & off, when sitting at night relaxing we set the string lights to 5% brightness, very peaceful and relaxing. Company comes over we set between 60-80% brightness. Working on the deck at night 100%. Nice timer function, set the timer to 30 minutes and the lights go out. Really as made the lights more usable.Remote is radio frequency, old fashioned but works great, does not interfere with other devices and we don’t need are smart devices on the deck, I will repeat, you don’t need you smart device, escape and relax on the deck.Check your string lights are dimmable and if they are you should buy this.

Recieved this dimmer for my patio lights under gazeebo in Oct 2021 used 2 or 3 times to verify working was OK. Have just started to use gazeebo this month June 2022. Remotes Will not work, lights come on but do not turn off or adjust, changed batteries still not working. Unpacked second remote but it does not work either. Unit seems to get very hot did not feel that way when first used 8 months ago. Absolute waste of money very disappointed that a product would quit working after being used 3 times. Is mounted in dry location and power to unit is nturned off when not in use. Do not waste your money as this is not a cheap item either.

This product was better than others we attempted to use. Two main characteristics that set this apart for the others; 1. This dimmer switch even worked with supposed non specified as dimmable lights strings, and it supported that operations regardless. Others did not work, and opted to get another light stand, but was not required with this switch. 2. The extra length of the attached extension cord made for easier use and adjustable feature. Previous switch was 12" too short and would have required extensive modification. Great product, such that I bought more to string additional lights in the area.

TL:DR - 2 units, both with the same issue..... Remote / dimming functions stop working, seemingly incompatible with a load of ~100W or less.Connected this to an LED outdoor string light set consisting of 48 -1W LED bulbs.Out of the box I noted even at 10% brightness, the bulbs were still fairly bright. Not a huge deal, I know dimmability of LED lights can vary but worth noting. Otherwise all was well for about 2 weeks, when the remote stopped working. For the next 3 days I could unplug the unit and reconnect to regain control for a short time.Afterward though, no reset would help. Power on, lights came on at 100%, no adjustments.Tried both remotes, tried new batteries, no luck. Blue light on the remotes show working, but no change. So I bought a second one, thinking the first was just defective, hey it happens.... Second one comes in, this one works for all of 30 minutes, starts doing the same thing! For now a reset gets the remotes working but I know where this is going...Then it dawned on me, this thing is rated up to 1000W, what if the ~50W load I have on it is simply too light and the system can't recognize enough is connected to properly regulate the dimmer. (Most likely a Triac circuit). It's very possible that I lucked out with the first one based on internal tolerances, but likely changes in weather / heat brought the load down just enough to lock it up.I grabbed an old halogen (250W) bulb and plugged it up to the dimmer circuit.... Eureka... System works perfectly. Disconnect, reconnect LED string, works for 10 minutes, dimmer functions stop.Tried both old and new dimmer system, swapping back and forth between each as well as between LED string set and 250W halogen... Same exact result every single time. 250W good, 50W LED bad. I did experiment with a few other bulbs and the threshold APPEARS to be right around 100W.... 40W plus ~50W LED string, controls stop. 60W or above plus ~50W LED string, works flawlessly. So for 2 nights I have ran the dimmer with both the LEDs and the 60W bulb, no issues at all. Hypothesis confirmed, but in the end, I don't want to have to add an incandescent or halogen bulb to get this thing to work, and adding another 50 LED lights to this will just be too much. So back they both go to Amazon. For those looking at this for 100+ LED bulbs or for just about any level of incandescent or halogen (up to 1000W of course), you will PROBABLY be ok. But for those with a moderate to small LED string setup, I recommend looking elsewhere.

This things works great I mixed and matched different brands of strings with 2w LEDs and 11W bulbs which I have swapped out and now have about 100 of the LEDs (6 strings I think) which work great. I needed something to light the path and my treehouse which is ~100 feet from the house, and to be able to turn off the lights after I get safely to the house. As noted by some reviews the remotes are not uniquely paired so (for instance) if your neighbors get these it will cause problems. This may be why my lights randomly turn on, usually at night and to random settings as well. I frequently get up in the morning and the lights are FLASHING which my neighbors probably do not enjoy. I tried this because my yard is longer than my wifi, so the app controlled ones would not work, but I am hoping maybe there is a setting for the RF frequency or some way to avoid bushwhacking in the dark to unplug the power so my neighbors do not suspect satanic activity.

I only had this for a few hours. set up is simple and the remote works with more features like blinking and timing etc. than I expected. Most importantly I want to be able to dim l e d rope lighting which lite up the yard like a runway. It has 10 preset dimness buttons and up and down arrows if your fuzzy about it. I works perfectly. I have mine set up on a timer but this remote can override the timer and I can turn it off before if I want. The description of the product in the enlargement photos indicated that it came with two remotes. I only got one but I think I got an upgraded remote. I works really well. I see some other reviews were having trouble with the remotes I guess time will tell. My only concern is it you don't have a working remote then then you got nothing that works. I'm going to contact the seller about getting that free extra remote. just in case. So far so good. says it has a 1 year warranty.

Product worked great for my use and seemed solidly built. It's in a metal case and that probably helps with heat dissipation. I really liked the high 1000W maximum. I was running 400W on it and it got pretty warm. Hopefully it really can handle the the rated 1000W. The different modes were fun. I think there is a another product with more modes (flashing, glowing, etc) and that might be cool if this one had some more. But it was great and I LOVED that it had a button for each 10% increment of brightness. One important thing to note is that one remote will work for all the controller boxes. I was thinking they would be paired to each other uniquely so I could have two boxes with two remotes and they wouldn't control each other. That's not the case. This is a maybe a plus if you are wanting one remote to control multiple boxes. But in my case, I would have preferred to have a remote for each box that only controlled that box.
