Bought this specifically for built in lights my son has on his bed for reading. The dimmer went out so I hooked it up so it’s either off or on. Was hoping this would allow me to control the brightness, but the light is either on fill, or flickers. Good enough for now, but the search for a working dimmer is still on.

This is absolutely delightful for the intended purpose. I have a blue lightbulb and wanted some soft light for gentle atmosphere. It absolutely worked to dim the light and it extends it to a good brightness as well. I haven't used it for a sound-based product. It is designed well, appears durable, and easy to use/install. It is very intuitive.

Has a good feel to 'click' on, then slide up, then slide down and 'click' off. Offers dimming capacity (obviously) to a lamp that didn't have one, which is great -- that lamp was always too bright. Very convenient to use from the couch, we love it!

I purchased this from the used section and am delighted with the performance. Dimming my small table lamp with LED was my requirement, and this item is absolutely perfect. No wiring required - the dimmer sits inline with the outlet. Well made. I can recommend.

I bought a second one after having used the first one on a set of 4 x PAR 20 LED floodlights. This in my kitchen where the 4 x PAR 20s are on a track illuminating the long counter. Dimming range is fine and note that there is an OFF switch at the end of the sliders range for dimming: just slide a bit more and it clicks OFF.My second set was an experiment to see if I could dim 4 strings of white LED outdoor Christmas lights. I have 4 x colored strings and 4 x white strings in a tree, yet the whites were far too bright for the colored ones, and a lot of work on a ladder if I were to change them out: YES, this dimmer dimmed them just fine and I could match the brightness of the whites to the colored strings. Of course I protected this dimmer from the weather as it is not outdoor/rain rated.Also note that this is a TRIAC based dimmer meaning it is very efficient and doesn't get hot.

I use them for LED lights under desk. They blink a little on full power but that's ok. They dim, that's all that matters.

This product does not work with a standard LED lightbulb. You have to have a regular lightbulb or a dimmable LED lightbulb. This isn’t really a flaw, just something you should be aware of. Once I changed out my lightbulb, this works well and I do enjoy being able to dim my light on my nightstand, so I don’t keep my husband up. It was easy to install. Basically you just plugged the lamp into this cord and use the sliding dimmer to work the bulb. I can’t turn the light off completely using the dimmer, so I still have to reach up and turn the light off manually when I want it off completely. One other thing that really bothers me is that this is a hard plastic dimmer box so it slides around on my nightstand. It seems like functionally, They should’ve put some rubber feet on the back to keep it from sliding around. It is a reasonable option to easily add dimmer capability to a standard lamp.

Both dimmers work as they should, as long as the lights you want to control are smooth dimming/dimable and under 360w total electrical load. I wanted to use these controllers with dimable LED filament bulbs, but I was not happy with the smoothness of the fading/flickering (partly due to the LED bulbs I wanted to use). I eventually decided to use a single 40w incandescent bulb with each dimmer. The dimming up and down is now very smooth without any hum noise from the slide control box or bulb. I really didn't want to use incandescent bulbs with the dimmers, because our family has been trying over the past few years to limit our electricity usage for various things in out home, and using LED Filament/COB bulbs have helped greatly in that regard, but considering that these dimmers are being used sparingly in a bedroom setting, and most of the time it's only used to give off a gentle light (amber'ish colour, which is easier on the eyes at night) while watching TV, or when reading a book in bed... the amount of electricity the 40w incandescent bulb actually uses while dimmed down almost all the way, is rather minuscule, and the bulb barely gives off any heat at that light output level. If I eventually find an LED Filament/COB bulb that has very smooth dimming capabilities (that doesn't cost a lot of $'s), I might switch out the incandescent bulbs for that. Until then, I'm happy with how it's working right now.Btw, the plug end of the dimmer that connects to the wall outlet (that you use to plug your light's plug connector into), only has two prongs, which means you can't (or at least you're not supposed to) use a grounded appliance/fixture with a 3 prong connection plug.

This dimmer works as advertised. For my decor and purposes I really like the fact that they are available in black. The dimmers are somewhat subtle, discreet and camouflaged in black which is perfect. The sliders are very smooth and thus picking your desired dimmed setting is easy and accurate each time. Very satisfied with the product.
