The sections are thin plastic so it takes a little effort to attach them to each other. You also have to be careful how you pound them into the ground. Tapping them down on the seams works, but you have to hit them lightly. You do get a lot (40) of sections for the money.

I have used this type of edging before with no issues. I had just installed a new flowerbed and thought I would give it a nice, finished look. The soil was fresh and soft and we had just had a rain. When I attempted to use a rubber mallet to install the plastic snapped on several of the pieces I tried to install. Disappointed. Returning.

I bought a similar version of this edging years ago and it really held up. These are slightly lighter in weight but still get the job done. They install easily. ( I put a block of wood on to and tap them into place.). They make it easy to edge curves and corners since you are only installing one or two at a time. The size goes deep enough to contain plants and mulch from spreading beyond borders. Looks nice once done!

I put up trim last summer around my corner flower bed, but discovered this year they were too short to adequately hold back the mulch. I found these, and ordered on Amazon. The NEXT DAY I had them, and it was so easy to install and interlock. It looks nice and neat, and so far ( 3 months later) the entire bed is still holding strong and the mulch is staying where it belongs.

I bought a similar product from Lowe's a few years ago, and this seemed to match. Tried to use it and the scallop on top broke as soon as I tried to put it in the pre-dug crevice. Thinking maybe I was too rough, I tried again. Same result. These are about the thickness of a thin deli slice of cheese. One even broke when I tried to separate 2 pieces. Completely unusable!

Works good for hard dirt/rock surfaces because it has shallow points. We edged our front yard areas and butted gravel up to the back edge to hold it in place. You can make a neat turn at corners and secure with giant nails if necessary. The only drawback was that it does not come in a variety of colors.

I rated this product as a 3 but would have been a 2.5 at best. I couldn't find my remaining box from many years ago, so I ordered these. Noticed right away the thickness was much less. I knew I'd have to be careful installing them, and was not surprised I broke 6 of them even though I prepared the ground before trying to install. I'm not looking forward to when I have to weed eat near them. After ground prep, they were easier to install, and the ground wasn't too hard.
