In the first place, almost all of the pictures depict the product upside down. The points go down.I bought my first pack of this edging 2 years ago so it is going into its third summer and looks just fine..., especially considering that it has been severely weed whacked a couple times a month. One thing about this first packet I used. I have zoysia grass which is very thick, yet I used a large wooden mallet to drive the edging through it. It was fairly difficult and I broke one in frustration by hitting too hard.The beds that I have surrounded with the two other packs I purchased were done with a little more forethought. First I painted a line where the edging would go, waited for it to rain and while the soil was softened, I used one of those half moon edgers to slice a line on the paint. If you want to get your knees damp, you can practically push the edging down to the point where the points disappear. Use a wide rubber or wooden mallet. This will leave you about 4" or a bit more which is excellent for weed whacking and not hiding low plants in the bed.

This product would work great in soft level dirt. After reading the reviews and description I thought this border would work perfectly for my project. My ground dirt was soft but a little rocky and not level too much work for me to even out. I will use this product in another prepared soft level area.

This was the perfect product for my needs. I have a long double-picket fence leaving a lot of grass and weed potential for the flower bed I'm putting in down the property line. It went together like a charm, working in 8-unit sections that I then joined at the bed for a run of more than 25 feet plus the turn of almost 4 feet. A couple of taps with a wooden mallet and it sank right down into my tilled soil. Here in the River Parishes of south Louisiana, we have super good soil from centuries and centuries of Mississippi River silt - I can see it might be tricky in heavy clay or junk-land-fill soil, but it went in incredibly easy and leveled beautifully here. I then folded newspaper four times to create eight layers, put that behind it and under this thick fence and covered that with thick mulch. So far it is holding up great between torrential rain and 95-degree+ temps. I found it easy to use - the corner connector included with the packages was very handy. I can see that I'm likely to repeat this order for other sections of my yard.It also was delivered very promptly, packaged well, totally undamaged, not "warming" required.

After reading several negative and a few positive reviews, i decided to purchase this product anyways because i thought it would be a quicker project than the edging that isn't poundable. After successfully inserting the first 4 out of the 40 yards i currently have laid out around my flower bed (in the works), here is what i recommend to you who decide to purchase this product:It takes forever to put the stupid pieces together. For those of you who really value your time like i do, you'll appriciate all the effort that you put in to assembling all those sharp pieces as they all come apart while even doing the slightest hammering of them into the ground! But hey, you'll only have cut your fingers a couple of times in the long process of assembling, so no big deal. Oh, and your likely going to have to dig a hole for all of the pieces anyways. So that kind of ruins the convenience of the poundable edging. It looks pretty tacky once it's in the ground too. Of course that could be because i have found it impossible to get even a couple of feet of the product completely even in the last hour and a half.Best suggestion:While assembling your product, call your local landscape company. Schedule an appointment. They will probably have your project finished before you have even assembled this one, saving you much time, trouble, and quite frankly, it's going to look better than what you could do with this crap anyways.

I’ve been using BorderMaster Poundable Edging for years. It’s my favorite edging for lawn and garden projects. I’m using this latest order to edge my peach and apple trees, then fill them in with mulch.Each piece is 6"x6" and you get a total of 20 feet in one order. You can get this product in black or green and it creates a nice scalloped edging. The pieces fit together quickly and easily and you can pound them into the ground with a hammer (rubber mallet best). A corner coupler is included in each order.I like that this edging is a recycled material that will not easily disintegrate.

I used this edging to hold back an area of stones below my downspouts in a landscaped area. It does the job, the black color is inconspicuous, and it was not hard to pound into the ground. It is best to install when the ground is soft and/or damp. The edging is a little thin for the pounding that is needed to install it, but it worked and I am pleased with the final result. The ability to attach sections to achieve the desired length is very nice.

Started as a 1 star, but company rep came through and fixed the packaging problem that warped edging sections which made most of them unusable. They tended to crack on installation. Wonderful customer service. Product works well as edging, easy to install, sturdy and reusable. Since I purchased these in 2011, I also used them to edge a planter box to add more height and to encircle a fabric Smart pot onion planter that dried out too quickly in recent hot months. Extra connectors are easily available on Amazon at a reasonable price.
