I picked up this power supply so that I would have the capability of supplying high voltage DC. I find the power supply easy to use and simple to adjust the voltage and current settings. The 4 memory buttons are a nice feature to be able to jump quickly between presets and I like that the output is turned off when these memory presets are pressed so there is no way to damage a connected circuit if I forgot what voltage I had set on the preset. The buttons do not make any beeping sound when pressed and the knob is also quiet.I found the supply capable of outputting the 200V advertised by measuring the output voltage unloaded with an external digital multimeter. Next I wanted to test the current capability at voltage. I have an electronic load but it is only rated to 150V so I set the power supply to 150V output with 1A load. I found that the power supply is not capable of supplying the rated current while keeping the voltage at 150V. Backing the load off to around 990mA the power supply was able to supply that current at 150V. Usually power supplies have a little headroom around their maximum advertised current so that they are able to supply that maximum current without the voltage dropping. If you need a 200V power supply capable of 1A I would look elsewhere but if you need close to 1A this power supply might work for you. If you need 1A below 80V then this power supply can do that.I disassembled the power supply to see the build quality and it seems ok to me for this price and class of power supply. The weak point of this power supply will be the low quality capacitors that are being run very close to their maximum rated voltage. It may be possible that upgrading these to higher quality higher rated capacitors will enable the full 1A output at 200V but at that point I would look for another brand of power supply that can meet its ratings.During disassembly I also wanted to check out the USB/serial connections to see if they are isolated. I don't see any optoisolators but it does look like there is an isolated DCDC voltage regulator. I would be concerned about damaging any connected equipment and would highly recommend using an isolated USB or serial adapter with this power supply. My last complaint about this power supply is that the binding posts are not rated for 200VDC. That style of binding post is usually rated at about 80V maximum from a reputable manufacturer but I would lower that for the no-name binding posts on this power supply. High voltage power supplies will usually have terminal blocks or high voltage binding posts. I would be very cautious of these connectors at high voltages and am considering modifying this power supply with better rated connectors.Due to this power supply not being able to meet its maximum current at high voltage and the questionable rating of the binding posts I would not recommend this power supply to anyone looking for a high voltage power supply. Considering the asking cost of $200 this is not even a cheap power supply that could be modified to be better and meet its ratings.

This PS works similarly to all the other NICE-POWER boxes I've tried, with a couple of exceptions:1) The timeouts for adjusting current and voltage are shorter than they are on other units, so I often find myself having to re-enable the mode I want. This seems like a REALLY ODD design decision, given that this unit adds a dedicated LOCK button to prevent the controls from working at all. Why wouldn't you make the timeout longer, or better yet remove it entirely, and let the user hit the LOCK button when they're done?2) When adjusting the voltage while there's not a significant load on the supply, wide voltage swings lag the control motions by up to several seconds. It's not a big problem, but it's disconcerting, since other Nice-Power supplies react very quickly.Other than that, it's nice to have this wide voltage range, and while the 1A current limit is annoying, a box capable of providing higher current at these voltages would probably be a LOT larger, heavier, and more expensive.

I would like to preface this by saying this is my first power supply for testing electronics. The one amp output seems to be lacking and limits the abilities to test electronics. The small footprint takes up minimal space on the workbench. The knobs and buttons feel sturdy and the included test leads are made of heavy gauge material. The display is impressive, with bold and bright colors that are easily visible even in direct sunlight.Instruction manual was okay, not the worst I have seen but far from the best. I was able to figure out what I needed to know. You can dial in exact voltages and amps. Digital dials are a million times more usable than analog dials and the output button allows you avoid current overshoot. The handy USB port with two amp output is nice but three to five amps would have been better. The USB port provides more amps than the power supply.

I am doing a lot of low voltage electronic projects and need more than just the 5VDC that USB supplies. I picked this up so I could add power for motor projects among others. This is a very nice unit for me. It is silent, (at least in my use) has memory presets for 4 voltage settings and also provides that 5VDC USB power that I mentioned earlier. For a wide variety of projects I do this is a good unit. I hooked it up to a Multimeter to compare the voltages it said it was providing against what I could verify. The numbers were all rock solid. The unit is digital and if you need to dial in 5.18 VDC instead of just 5VDC you can. There are additional ports on the back of the unit, but their use is not explained in any detail. Most likely someone with more experience, or the internet, could explain their purpose. On the whole, I am very happy with the unit.

This works really well - a very good bench power supply. Plus, it has a port to plug it into your computer to control it. Why would you want that? Nobody knows! The app is hard to figure out and gives a virus warning, so I'd just stick with the buttons on the unit - they appear to do all the same things as the app does. Other than the strange connectivity options, the power output is clean and it seems reliable with a nice easy to read display and good buttons (my old one has a tiny little button which has worn out and this has a nice chunky knob and buttons).

This power supply has a nice illuminated digital LED display that is easy to read. The accuracy of the voltage is quite good as indicated by my multimeter. I did not measure accuracy of the current. It is nice in that it does continuous power indication as well so no math needed if you are interested in power output.I did not test it to full power, as I was just using it for some low power testing - 95% of my use will be probably below 1A but it is good to know it has additional power output when needed. I've used other power supplies with a 3A limit and wished for more, so the 10A limit on this is appreciated. The controls are simple enough, but awkward - that may sound like a contradiction but while grasping what is needed to make adjustments is easy enough, going through the motions is a little tedious. This is mainly because you need to adjust voltage and current with the same dial, and there is a button to move between scales. There is another button that moves which digit you want to adjust. Then the dial will adjust the reading. It works, but takes a little time to adjust. I feel like there is room for improvement there. This company makes other supplies with independent voltage and current controls, I think those would be easier to use.

I really like these compact supplies. I have a 0-50VDC 3A version and found it was lacking a bit, when testing a few things like fans, high power LEDs etc. This unit with 10A definitely gets a lot more use even though its upper voltage limit is 30V ( practically everything I do is 24V or 12V or less) so the additional current is very much appreciated and used! The resolution is great at .01V/A and having either current or voltage control is great. The only thing I can see as a down fall is you can only select current OR voltage. My other unit, you could set BOTH current AND voltage limits at the same time (independently). Still a great box and gets more use than any other bench supply I have.
