Up for sale is a replacement moduler icemaker NEW and UNUSED. This is a replacement icemaker kit for Whirlpool part number 2198597. This has a special ice stripper on it that helps to deflect the ice into the bin. The model refrigerators that this fits uses a PC board emitter sensing unit to determine when the ice bucket is full to turn off the icemaker. The cubes dump directly into the Ice Bin on the Freezer Door. This icemaker is for side by side refrigerators with Ice Bin in Door. This icemaker includes one flat rectangle 4 pin connection that measures 10.5" long. The cord is fuse protected. This icemaker is designed for replacement only and does not include water valve or bucket. Replacement for numbers 2198598, 626663, PS869316 and AP3182733. Send us your refrigerator model number and we will verify if this is the correct fit for it.

How to trouble shoot to see if the icemaker or the water valve needs replaced:

Make sure electric is going the icemaker it with a volt meter, 115v should be present (voltage may vary depending on the voltage in house)

Tape the flap on the left so it does not block the beam and then remove the front cover of the icemaker and on letters L and N on the face of the icemaker.

check to see if you have the voltage to the icemaker...115V, If yes then lets see if your water valve is good, take a piece of insulated wire about 2-3" long and strip both ends about a 1/4"

Jump letters L and V on the face of the icemaker and see if you get water in the maker, if you do then the icemaker needs replaced, if you do not then you have a bad water valve

You cannot live in Florida in the summer without a tall cold glass of ice tea. My icemaker went out and I called the store where I purchased my refrigerator and it was going to be quite expensive to replace the icemaker with them so I went to my go to place Amazon to see if I could find a suitable replacement. This was a very good value for the money. It was pretty much plug and play and it was working that same day and I was able to have my tall cold glass of iced tea. I highly recommend the seller and I just love my Amazon.

This seller claims that they are not the manufacturer but a reseller and do not provide a warranty. Will not provide contact information for manufacturer or any recourse when product did not preform as expected. Product is not satisfactory and Amazon and 3rd party seller wholesale will not assist with this defective product. A-z guarantee was initiated twice and canceled without explanation. Amazon and its 3rd party sellers are both extremely dissatisfaction. No resolution, no assistance. Do not purchase from this seller

I am not sure why I didn't buy this sooner, we had gone back to the stone age with ice cube trays after the ice machine stopped working. When I had checked previously the cost was too high to warrant replacing, then I stumbled into this item and took the plunge. It was a quick install and we had ice flowing again within an hour. Amazing! It's been a couple of weeks, hopefully it works for the lifetime of this fridge!

Installed in my KitchenAid Refrigerator KSRS25FTBT01. Works well and found some good tips on you tube. Fairly easy DIY repair. This is the most replaced part on (my) frig. (typically 5~7 years) Usually the ice tray coating breaks loose makeing the cubes stick and can't release. Another time the heater failed intermittently, tested good when I took it out but ice kept getting stuck every couple weeks.

A perfect fit in my Kenmore Elite model 106.57706701. Took about 30 mins to install and was dropping ice within two hours. Amazon said it would be at the house by December 3rd, it showed up 5 days early and saved thanksgiving.

I suspect most of these ice makers work just fine. But just be aware that sometimes they can fail dramatically. When this ice maker was about 1 year old, it jammed, but in the worst possible way. For some reason, the "rake" mechanism must have been pointing into the ice tray when the water first filled. Then when the cubes were extracted, they were stuck on the end of the rake like popsicles. As they rounded the top, they jammed the mechanism with the rake pointing up, exactly in the position in which the water valve is turned on to fill the tray for the next load of ice. Not being able to advance further, the water ran and ran and ran. After cleaning up the mess, I watched the ice maker very carefully, and it would not repeat the problem. I therefore attributed it to a freak event like a power failure at the wrong time in the ice making cycle.Fast forward several months to today: It did exactly the same thing in exactly the same way, with the ice stuck on the fork in exactly the same position. And we were home this time, so we know there was no power failure. The exact repetition of the prior incident tells me its a defect in the ice maker.Rather than subjecting our hardwood floors to the risk of further damage, I'm replacing the ice maker.
