Lasted 9 months before it stopped working. Took it apart out of curiosity. The pin and socket for the heating element are completely melted and burned. Did not come with the harness or lever. You'll need to use those from the previous unit.

Purchased and installed in November of 2022 for $104 and change. Here it is mid-July of 2023 and ice maker is not working. It makes ice, but the ice will not dump. Apparently, the heating element which allows the ice to dump is not functioning properly. If I heat the bottom of the unit, with a hair dryer, the ice will dump; but it will not dump without aid. After only 8 months, this is totally unacceptable.

You need to look at the original ice maker and make sure you remove any parts that you need to install this product. Once you do it's a braze to install and operates great.

Replaced whirlpool ice maker .Easy installation, save your old wiring harness and ice sensor arm , this unit is only the ice maker .Working very well .

Perfect replacement for ice maker in Whirlpool freezer. Ensure plug is fully connected, mine wasn’t and I thought it didn’t work, after inspection I discovered it was operator error and we were off to the races making ice.Definitely not of the same quality materials as OE, but not to a level that it was cause any issues as it’s only job is making ice

Works perfectly and quickly. Very happy with performance. However, it should be specified that it does NOT come with wiring. You have to reuse the wiring from your old ice maker. This is the 4 pronged wiring harness. Don't try to pull the old wiring out. It's got a clip on the outside of the unit that pushes in (I used a flathead screwdriver) and the wiring slides out. It also does not come with the metal lever. We were very relieved to find this replacement unit. But the fact that it doesn't come ith the wiring makes the cost a bit unreasonable. A new unit SHOULD have new wiring IMO.
