This item fits squarely in Martin model 000X1. I only adjusted the height to optimal string action by sanding the bottom section. However, it is as expected. This has improved the guitar sound for brightness and longer sustain.

I really like the quality of these saddles. They replaced a cheap broken plastic one on a ‘90s Alvarez. One thing to note is the thickness on both of the saddles I received is 2.5mm not 2.73mm. This actually worked out great because I needed 2.5mm and was planning on thinning these out. Just beware if you need 2.73mm these will be too narrow.

Right the out the package it was the exact length and width as my original Martin DX1 2004 saddle. The intonation improved from my 20 year old saddle, still not perfect, but I also was easily able to sand the bottom the lower the action. Sound is decent. I actually prefer the white tusq sound on the treble strings, rings out much better than bone. But overall this felt louder and cleaner. This was my second attempt after returning a saddle from another company that was much too small for my guitar and seemed even smaller then claimed. The length of this saddle was exactly as described.

I wanted to lower the action on my Martin D16E as well as replace the TUSQ saddle with bone. This saddle fit the bill. You can see from the picture it's a perfect fit. This is not a drop in replacement if that is what you are looking for. I was lower the action so I had to sand it to the proper height anyway but out of the package these are far longer than the stock saddle. So even if you just want to replace without changing the height you will need to sand these to the same height as the saddle you are replacing. If that is the case I would recommend you just get a drop in replacement that is already the proper height. With that said it is not hard to sand them to height. I have a belt/disc sander so I was able to very quickly and precisely sand one to the proper height but doing it by hand it not very hard or time consuming either. Just be sure to use a very flat surface as you want the bottom of the saddle to be perfectly flat.Since I lower the action, adjust the neck relief, and installed new strings it was hard to judge the exact impact of the bone saddle but it does seem like the guitar has a bit more punch. Like the attack is a little faster maybe. The D16's come with a bone nut so visually this saddle is a nice match compared to the stock beige TUSQ saddle and the bright white just looks better. The compensation seems to be an exact match and I had no intonation issues. So for my needs these were perfect and a great deal. But if you are not willing or able to adjust it to the proper height then I would spend the extra money and get one that is ready to drop in. Just be sure you know what height you need.

Good value 2 for the price of one plus a pick. Some sanding down needed to bring strings within fret gap specs. Recommended.

The height was . 014" taller than the original, which it should have been. Added more brilliance to the sound. Update: I installed an under saddle transducer and after I took .050"off the total height, the guitar sounded dead. So I don't know if I received one good one and one bad one or if it was due to my sanding.

Bought these to replace the knackered plastic one that dropped out of an old Fender Concord.I knew it’d need sanding and filing and cutting so having a second included in the price was a great safety net.Excellent value for money and brilliant quality. However, after grinding and sanding and due to it being genuine bone my workshop ended up smelling like an amateur dentists.
