This unique niche product seemed like a perfect fit for my needs. I’m an analog enthusiast who wants to seamlessly blend old-school technology with modern gadgets. I envisioned a device that could store my curated music and seamlessly integrate with both my analog and current technology devices.On my initial review, I said the following:1. Missing accessories - They were minimal and do not affect the function. The seller was very quick to reach out to offer those missing parts.2. Did not work on my Pioneer cassette deck. - This was an issue with my deck. Remember these are old devices and experience will vary. Even with the lack of connection between reels, it should work for most components.3. Did not work on the car. - the performance or connectivity will greatly vary on the car manufacturer. If this is a priority for you, be aware that it’s not this product’s fault but the functionality of the car’s entertainment system.Having this in my hand gives me joy and reminds me of my younger days. It is just a tad hefty than a normal cassette, I’d say about 15 grams more which is not enough. It looks cool putting this in my pocket, and if desired, slip it in a cassette case after turning it on and enjoy the music using the Bluetooth capability. Better yet, use a wired earphone for more immersion! The best part? No bulky player needed! I like this better than playing the music with my phone. It distracts the music whenever I get a call or a notification.There are a few minor issues though, the UI operation can be finicky. Partly due to the small size of the screen. My old eyes sometimes can’t see some text with music but operation itself should be straightforward. Navigating is a learning curve and can be an issue if you have big fingers. These are small nit picks because once it is playing, just put it in your pocket for non-stop music.If you use mp3 instead of lossless audio like Alac, you can really cram a serious amount of music using the internal memory but otherwise, use an SD card for more or better formats. Personally I didn’t see a difference in sound quality of my collection.When you turn off the screen while playing, the volume controls on top works. One tap of the power button will enable the screen if you want to change music then tap the power again to turn it off.For any issues, the seller is very responsive. For GenX like me, this is nice to have to carry your tunes. I think the price is just right for what it can do. Totally Radical!Update: BUY THE CASE TOO! It has some really cool stuff inside and worth more than the price you pay for it.

First off, love the packaging, it has such an 80s/Vaporwave aesthetic that immediately made me smile upon opening it. Second, easy to drag and drop my files, I was listening to my music in literally minutes. Third, even though it has included earbuds it paired almost immediately with my headphones and buds, worked in my tape player, even paired with a mini speaker shaped like a cassette. The perfect pocket duo. Fourth? It's just cool to show off, my friends loved it, my brother wants one for himself. Love the free sticker, not sure what to do with it yet, so it's chilling in the box. I have yet to customize the Side A/B labels, personally I think it looks great left transparent to show off all the cool innards. Overall I'm very happy with this little device, it's going to get so much mileage from me this summer on a roadtrip.One thing that may add more coolness, a plastic cassette case to use as a way to prop it on a desk, and a way to protect it when not in use.

I saw this during its December reveal on Amazon's Buy It Now show. I was so excited about "Paul's Things" that I bought two, just in case I lost one or decided to gift one. As an enginerd who works with a bunch of other enginerds, I decided to take it to work this week to show it off, and to my dismay, the display failed. It failed once a few weeks ago, but a quick power cycle fixed it. Now, it just remains blank and does nothing. I will be opening my second one this week and attempt to show it off again next. I will keep you guys posted. But at this point, I am a bit bummed about its durability.

I cannot express how much I love this thing. I recently was inspired to re-assemble and add to my vintage hifi setup, including restoring an old tape deck. I wanted a way to merge the coziest of the old tech with the best of new tech, and this thing fit that bill perfectly. I'd seen a few articles about people who had turned an old cassette shell into an MP3 player, but this does so much more. The fact that you can pop this thing into a tape deck and play lossless digital files without worrying about speed differences or wow and flutter is the icing and cherry on top.

I have a LOT of audio equipment, and this mixxtape device is by far my favorite piece of gear. I have been playing with it ever since I got it. Even the packaging was a lot of fun to open up and explore. And that's what music is all about, enjoying it and having fun. For that, you cannot beat the mixxtape. You certainly won't regret buying itThis device made me feel like a kid again, and that is absolutely priceless.
