They are padded like boxing gloves. but no padding on the palms so not the best for shoveling. Will be great for snowboarding.

We saw these on a hallmark movie and my husband had to have them for the laughs. He wears them a lot with his friends and camping and they actually keep his hands warm. Functional and fun/funny!

Product would've been super if there were 'pull-on tabs' on the wrist bands. It's a royal pain to pull the mitts on otherwise. ( I added them, and now the mitts are perfect.)

This leather mitten is not as shown in Amazon's image of the mit. This mitten has a cloth wrist collar on the inside opening of the mitten. This makes it very cumbersome to quickly slide your hand into the mitten. It makes it necessary to use your opposite hand to help get the mitten on. The mittens leather is also quite stiff. I like a soft chopper style leather insulated mitten (without a wrist collar) when ice fishing. It allows me to quickly slip on or off the mitten when handling fish and I do not have to use both hands to get the mitten back on. For some the wrist collar may be advantageous in keeping out snow and cold. For my purposes, I am disappointed that it is not what I thought I was buying. I May return or if I keep this, I will cut the wrist collar out of the mitten.1/21/2022 Dropping the rating as low as I can go. Put the test to these mittens yesterday while out icefishing. While using the power drill/auger to drill holes, the mitten blew a hole in the threaded seam between the thumb and the palm of the hand. I've drilled thousands of holes using the same procedure and have never had a mitten fail me like this much less a mitten that is brand new. Pure junk.

living in a place where we have 10 months of good sledding a 2 months of bad , i think Im a bit of an expert on mitts these ones are beawsome ( beyond awsome) especially the cuffs keeps snow and chill off the wrists will buy again

These are great for working outside raking leaves. They kept my hands warm and room for fingers to grip a rake.
