Guess there is a quality control problem with the manufacturing of this product, so many good reviews but, several failures relating to broken welds at caster socket locations. Does anyone take pride in their job anymore?

I have a good quality rolling sewing chair, but the wheels are not. In order to get high quality skate wheels I had to change out the base of the chair. Changed the base so the new wheels would fit, now the chair rolls like butter on hot bread!

simple to assemble, seems pretty solid so far, saved having to buy a whole new chair, would probably buy again.

I had replaced the gas cylinder in my older office chair first, it ended up sinking through the base and hitting the floor, making the chair unstable and uncomfortable. So I decided to try replacing the base with a metal one instead of plastic, and this works great so far. Feels much sturdier, and the angle and material gives you a slight height boost as well. Works with standard size gas cylinders as well, and assembly of the base is super easy and quick.Honestly the hardest/longest part for you is going to be getting your OLD base/cylinder OUT of the old chair, that was extremely difficult for me, you should be prepared with a Rubber Mallet, some WD40, and possibly a Pipe Wrench, and bring some muscle cause all that stuff is set by weight and if you have an older chair like me, it was ROUGH to come off, even after doing it recently to replace the gas cylinder. Good luck!No issues so far, will update if necessary.

Se ve que estos soportes son soldados a mano, por las malas reseñas que vi yo creo que mejoraron la forma en la que hacen las soldaduras porque se ven mejor hechas cerca de todos los ångulos

Decided it was slightly less expensive to replace the bottom of my chair than to buy a new one. The base replacement attached quickly and easily and has held up and work great for the last 3 months. Recommended, it seems to be working with daily use.

This has done exactly what I needed it to and worked perfectly with new wheels and a new gas cylinder. It was very easy to put together and is incredibly sturdy. Not much more I really need to say about this. It's brilliant and definitely worth the money.

I bought this steel replacement for a plastic cheapie which was fitted to my Melokea S1 chair, this failed after only 6 months use, despite it claiming to be "heavy duty". I was tempted to go for a one-piece aluminium part, but the one I was looking at was only rated for 400 lbs, whereas this one is 2400! The package is neatly packed and fits very precisely together, 5 Allen keyed bolts holding the legs onto the very solid steel central part. Took no more than 5 mins to put together, but don't forget to put the plastic guard over the end of the seat post BEFORE fitting the post into the base, as once you've sat on it, it's difficult to remove!!There is no hint of movement in the legs themselves once the Allen keys are fitted, given the quality of the steelwork and the precision with which they fit together, I can see why this item is relatively expensive (I paid ÂŁ43) but over all I think the product is good value for money. If only chair manufacturers fitted decent bases in the first place..... but I guess this would make them a lot more expensive. I'll certainly never buy a chair with plastic base again, particularly now I have this metal one!I went for a nice set of soft rolling double castors as well, much nicer than the originals. So OK I have spent as much repairing the chair as it originally cost, but at least I know the base won't fail!

When the package arrived, I was expecting a different form. But I found that the base assembled very easily and well designed. Solid steel construction. I only added lock washers to the screws as added insurance. Could have used Lock-tite thread locker I suppose. Over all, I am quite pleased with the new base. I do not anticipate having to ever replace it or to have any problems with it.

Product looks good, fit, and so far seems to function well. Purchased to replace a broken plastic base. The wheels from the broken plastic base fit into the new one in my case so I didn’t have to get new wheels.

When this turned up as a small self assembly kit I was dubious that it would meet expectations; surprisingly after assembly the chair base was very sturdy and strong and I am really pleased with it. If I ever needed a replacement chair base again I would be choosing this! Great value for money, easy assembly, looks great and it works really well.

Here’s a polished version of your review:---I’ve attached before and after pictures for reference. I purchased this product to replace the base of my Xrocker gaming chair, and I’m very pleased with the results. The setup was straightforward, and the new base fit perfectly, including the wheels, which installed without any issues. The chair feels sturdy and looks like it was designed specifically for gaming. I’m giving it 5 stars for now, but I’ll update this review if I encounter any problems down the line.

A crack formed in the plastic base of my "Union & Scale Dexley" chair from Staples, as seen in the "BEFORE" pictures. This caused a tilt that made the chair almost unusable, though the rest of the chair was in excellent condition. I was able to remove the old base using a hacksaw, several hours, several bandaids, and lots of sweat.Installing the new base was simple - it only took a few minutes, 5 screws, and installing the old wheels (which fit perfectly). Now instead of spending $180-$400 on a new chair, my old chair is working good as new ("AFTER" picture). I weigh about 330 pounds, I will update this review if the base fails in the future, but it seems pretty sturdy.I want to reiterate how difficult it was to remove the old base. If you have a crack like mine, know that there is a metal ring on the piston that digs into the plastic, basically fusing with the base. No amount of hammering will get it off. You will need to cut it off like I did, though interestingly the base was pushed so far up that I could have just put the new base on the bottom and it would have worked fine (2 bases!).I think if I get a new chair with a plastic base in the future, I will hammer off this one and use it again instead. Plastic bases are trash.
