This was a great replacement for my office chair after trying to get the original gas cylinder off which was welded to the original tilt mechanism. I had to replace all the base pieces on the chair and this part is anchoring everything below it in place. Fully recommended. btw: This does not come with screws so make sure you keep what you have.

I purchased the 500lbs version of this tilt mechanism for my chair when the original broke when I wasn't paying attention and leaning too far back in it. SNAP! This one is way better quality than the original that came with my chair. It feels like it was built for a tank. My old one was flimsy piece of junk. This may be a bit overkill, but at least I know it is good quality and will last forever. I'm impressed with the hefty weight and construction of it. They didn't cheap out here on this product. Completely worth it. There's no way this thing is going break. Pay the extra, and get the 500 lb version. Chances are, you will never have to worry about replacing it again, unless there is a Richter scale level 10 earthquake or a dinosaur-sized 120 mile diameter meteor falls on your house. I felt like a weight lifter putting this on my chair, as it's pretty heavy. The weight is good thing, though. It's solid. I'm glad I bought this!

I Bought this as a part to fix a gaming chair that I had purchased as the weld had cracked, causing the chair to sit off center, leading to back pain. After installing this on the chair, all went well and easy. This was until the chair became of center. After inspection, it was found the welds had cracked again. For reference, I am only 235lbs and should be within the limit of this devices operating capacity. Might be good if you are under 150lbs, but I would not trust it.

The received item is of less quality than the purchased one where it weighted 1.3kg however the original one based on the description should weight 3.5 kg and with much more thickness.

My gaming chair that I absolutely love had it's old base literally split off and was tilting forward sliding me out of the chair. I wasn't any near or over the the weight limit. I bought this in hopes to fix my chair. It worked like a charm, is better quality than the old one that came with the chair, and was extremely easy to install! Been using it over a year now and no problem. :)

I bought this to replace the broken one on my DXRacer Gaming Chair. It fit perfectly, very sturdy and works very well. Easy to install, great value. Much better option than buying a whole new chair!

This seems to be of very high quality, very hefty far better than the org Walmart one that came with the chair and broke(started leaning) with less than a month of use however they ARE NOT the size they claim nor was it a error in that they sent me the wrong one these are NOT 5.9'' x 8.6" they are 5.9'' x 9" so unless you can drill your own holes or need that size dont orderThat said my star ratings are based on the fact I had to drill new holes and it took me trying different things before it would work, its harder than it sounds to drill new holes the wood is so easy to disaggregate in my chair I had to use epoxy to create homemade rivets like the org bolts go into so the false advertising and the fact I had to drill new holes make me personally rate it low however it should be noted assuming it will fit your chair its a VERY high quality product I just wish they didnt claim it was 8.6in when its really 9in

Bought this to repair a fairly high-end chair from over a decade ago. I had to modify the front holes a TINY bit because my chair is nonstandard, but close enough that it works flawlessly. Due to over a decade of use, the gas cylinder was utterly stuck, so I had to replace both.None the less, the metal on this assembly is considerably thicker than even the high-quality decade-old assembly, and I strongly suspect this chair will last another ten years, even if its original cushion won't.UPDATE: I've been ignoring a really annoying issue for over a year and only now realized, the entire time I had forgotten it was an aftermarket part, I was assuming the annoyance was related to the original chair itself. The locking bar which limits the seat tilt slips out and unlocks. Constantly. It had since probably a year after I bought it, maybe earlier. I really am removing an entire star for that -- it would have been SO EASY to implement ANY form of retension for that lever, and it would have made the product otherwise flawless.

My own chair lift mechanism cracked - searched for a replacement and found this one - as other users described its solid - heavy metal 4-5mm - added new life to my office chair, very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend

My relatively new swivel chair started to tilt quite badly to the right. I paid a few hundred pounds for it and the top is still like new so I was really disappointed. However seeing this replacement part I decided to try fixing it. As you can see the weld on the original part had broken half way round so I suspect this was causing the lean. The hardest part of switching the base attachments was getting the gas lift cylinder out of the old. i ended up using a pipe wrench and a hammer! All is fixed now and the chair feels sturdier than it ever has before. Hopefully this will last many years!
