Master Airscrew Razor Plane has been engineered to use a special .017” x 1-3/4” blade with adjustment of the depth of cut by two blade stop screws. This tool is very handy for shaping balsa wood or other soft craft woods for airplanes, aircrafts or other hobby applications.

needed a razor plane to do some work on a scale model. I previously had a master airscrew plane from a few decades ago. unfortunately, the newer production of this plane is not nearly as good. the plastic is a raw, unfilled nylon. previously, the plane was carbon fiber filled nylon construction. The plane is not as precise due to imperfections left from some shrinkage after it was molded. it works, but it isn't as good as previous generations

普通に使えますが、樹脂でできている事から、耐久性、精度がどんなのか、わからないです。

This is just a very crude piece of molded plastic that is expensive for what it might do for you. Most people would be better off buying a cheap block plane for $20. You would have a real tool.

Is it doing the job? YES. Chassis is plastic (3D printed?) with 2x adjustment screws for blade depth and 1x screw for setting position. It works well. As a craft use on balsa and lighter basswood it is doing the job. The anchoring/set screw and plastic plate is not very grippy on the blade and I am concerned about over-tightening. Adjusting screws offer basic adjustment but there are no scales as to adjustment made (count how many quarter turns of the screw you make). At the price it is good value and I am assuming it may need replacing and so treating as a throw-away - which at the price is acceptable. If it lasts longer than my project, then I’m happy to be proved wrong!

Making leading edges for my airplanes are far easier now, and they come out better than before.

The adjusting screws bottomed out when I attempted to tighten them. The adjusting screws would not move in far enough to push the blade to a cutting position. I removed the adjusting screws and could see that the screws had already begun to strip the plastic. I found four very small washers which I placed on the screws. This allowed the screws to engage the blade and bring it down into cutting position before bottoming out. My guess is that the manufacturer started using adjusting screws that were about 2-3 mm too long. I was able to make the Razor Plane work but this demonstrates an annoying lack of quality control. I noticed that at least one other reviewer had problems engaging the adjusting screws. How bout lets get this fixed.

I initially forgot to include the blue plastic blade retainer on top of the blade. When i tried to torq the blade down without the retainer, the screw came out the backside, and started to gouge the wood. The planar works well when all the parts are utilized. :)

Great little plane works very well for the size easy to adjust the cutting depth stays at that depth through many passes the blade last a long time .you can't go wrong with this cheap well built plane. And you can buy replacement blades for this plane no sharing like other planes on the market this size. I've built three planes and see no dulling of the place yet.
