Not being an avid woodworker, I've never used a spoke shave. So, my opinion probably means less than those who are familiar with them. I am familiar with chisels, hand planes and other similar tools, though.After partially disassembling it, this spoke shave seems to have the necessary adjustability to get the job done. Its size seems about right and it shaves wood as expected. (Once you get the blade positioned and the knack of holding the tool at the proper attack angle.) The blade seems to be robust enough to last. It arrived reasonably sharp.This tool was packaged as well as any I have encountered: The retail hanger-package was in bubble-wrap inside as shipping box which was completely covered/sealed in at least two thicknesses of gray plastic which took a while to penetrate. To me, that amounts to taking pride in your product. Thank you Weitari for that.
