These replacement filters are so easy and convenient to use. I replace mine about once a month and it keeps my aquarium sparkling clean. Comes in a multi-pack and is a great value;

You can make one on your own using filter bags and charcoal because that’s basically what this is. But this is cheap and comes with 3. Great for a 5.5 gallon. Maybe not large enough for a bigger tank

We have been ordering this filter for the last two years. It works very well for our GloFish tank. It is durable and is able to be changed out easily by our teenage son. This is the only filter we will buy for this tank due to being an excellent product.

I use these for a small Marineland tank I have in my office and they always work very well.They're much cheaper on Amazon than my local pet stores.Just a good rinse before initial use and then I rinse them every 3 or 4 weeks and they're good to go again.They really keep the tank nice and clear.no more dealing with trying to refill cartridges and dealing with the mess.

Have used the Marineland Rire Size type H cartridge for years in a 35 gallon Eclipse aquarium system. Very effective and easy to use filtration. Can be used longer than the recommended one month if rinsed thoroughly under a tap or shower head when you first notice it is dirty. A very good price for the 3 pack. These filters are becoming increasingly more difficult to find.

If you have a five gallon hex, this is the only filter selection you get. The length of effectiveness depends on the condition of your tank, number of fish you keep, etc. If you have a light tank load, you can rinse these at least one time and reuse. I am able to rinse after two weeks and replace after roughly four to six weeks. Use it much beyond that and you just make your maintenance and water changes more of a workload. As a point of reference I am doing partial water changes two or three times a week and am able to keep very clear water. Marineland is decent product line and I have had no troubles with these filters. I use in conjunction with a biowheel, which is crucial to maintaining healthy condition of your water. My only "con" is that you can only purchase in quantities of one or three. I wish there were a discount economy pack say of ten or twelve. Finding these in stock at your local store could be hit or miss over buying them through amazon. Keep your eye on the prices as I have seen them fluctuate. You should be able to get the three pack for eight or nine dollars if you get it at the right time. I've seen them go for over $11 for the same thing so if you get a good price and have more than one tank or just want to stock up and not worry about reordering, get them at the better price while you can.
