My son's geometry teacher suggested this particular brand of compass. My son says, " it does its job." (Does not tell direction.)

If you ever worked with standard compasses, you know how much a pain they are.You can get stainless steel ones if durability is an issue with plastic. But if they're standard, they're not tight with the pencil at all!But you can get this compass which is durable and usable combined!Recommend to get this for school, it's portable as well.

It is almost impossible to draw a circle with this compass because the hinge cannot be locked.

I’m glad I was able to get this because I needed it for one of my classes. It was very worth it because the cheaper alternatives are not even near the quality of this one. I’m also glad that I can use my own pencil in this instead of just being limited to one pencil. Great purchase!

Best compass I've used in Geometry ever. It's more than what a student needs to spend, but great for a teacher.

This is a terrific compass at a good price. I use it to create mandalas in my art and I find it perfect for that purpose.
