Le compas est très bien construit et très pratique : l'écartement est précis et bien verrouillé.L'écartement minimum n'est pas trop grand (env. 2 cm), donc top.Seul gros reproche, le diamètre du serre-crayon est trop petit pour mes feutres pourtant de taille normale, je ne peux tracer qu'au crayon gris.J'hésite à le garder et cherche un feutre plus mince ou à le renvoyer...

For starters, the product arrived two days ahead of the delivery date. And it's worth the five stars I've given it, because it's well built with solid parts and a smooth spring-and-screw adjuster for accurate measurements. It's easily one of the best in its class.

I needed a pair of dividers/ compasses for plotting areas around a map point for a specific task and will also use them infrequently to scribe circles for metalworking.I don't need the best of the best for this but also didn't want tat that would break in a week.This product seems to fit the bill nicely. I paid about a tenner including Prime next-day delivery.The good:They feel nice in the hand. The knurling on the top handle and adjustment knob is sharp.Other reviews mention threads being naff, but I can't see an issue there.Spring is very strong. Rounded edges are smooth and flat faces are ground well enough, albeit showing witness of the grind.Other general build quality looks good for a tool at this price point.The bad:As others have said, these were caked in oil when they arrived and needed a few minutes clean-up. I worry this might mean they are likely to rust, but I take care of all my tools so will keep an eye on this (and update the review if it becomes an issue!) I imagine these will remain in the house where I do most of my drawings and only be taken into the workshop when needed to scribe metal.The legs don't close perfectly on plane (about 0.7mm off), this won't affect use, but it's one thing that will take the shine off using them. I'm guessing there's a slight twist in the spring. I'll probably put them away slightly open so I won't notice!!I don't like the pencil holder. It's functional but is essentially a grub screw, I saw another reviewer had placed a piece of brass in here to give a better grip/ protect the pencil, I might do something like that. Works best on pencils with at least one flat side. Will leave a small imprint on wooden pencils. For what it's worth, the pencil holder ID is approx. 8.3 mmVery minor imperfection on one leg (see image) doesn't affect function, also doesn't bother me aesthetically and I'm pretty sure it won't impact the integrity of the leg!Final thought:Another review mentioned how difficult turning the adjustment knob was. It is tight. Rightly or wrongly, I relieve tension on the spring by holding the legs, then spin the knob to get the legs somewhere handy. I then adjust to the final measurement using the knob under load.A little drop of light oil has also helped lubricate the threads.Hope that helps someone! Ich dachte erst, der fehlende „Schnellverschluss“ wäre ein Problem, aber wenn man den Zirkel etwas zusammendrückt, so dass die Schraube leicht frei drehen kann, lässt sie sich mit Schwung sehr schnell in die gewünschte Position bringen.

I really like the accuracy you can maintain with the thumb wheel style adjuster that stays put under spring tension.I found that the Paper Mate, "Write Bros." pens and the Bic "Round Stic" pens have a thin enough barrel to insert in the pencil retainer. But I warn you, that screw adjustment for writing utensils is hard on equipment.Overall, very pleased! 😎

Very good! wow, i'm impressed with this product. I'm drawing mandalas quite a bit and this is just a wonderful product as the screw holds the pencil in very well.

I purchased this compass to replace a cheap school compass I had been using in my woodshop. The compass does indeed draw round circles. It is very sturdy. It came covered in oil to prevent rusting in shipping. All very good. My only two complaints are:1) No quick release on the adjustment screw. You have to wind the nut the whole length if you go from short to long or back again. Fancier units have a quick release. Not a show stopper.2) The pencil attachment system is a simple screw to apply pressure to the pencil. To get the pencil tight enough not to wiggle, you have to tighten the screw fairly hard driving the screw into the wood. Now you have a divot in the pencil that makes it hard to advance the pencil when you sharpen it. I wish the screw had pressed against a larger diameter washer to squeeze the pencil rather than dig in. Again not a show stopper but mildly annoying.

I initially bought my daughter a compass from Walmart, it was very low quality and she complained that it wobbled and the lead had to be sharpen. I found this compass and it seems like a good fit for her. it is steady and uses pencils that she can sharpen easily.The compass came in a thick plastic bag and is covered in oil when I got it. I was a little disappointed because it doesn't have a finished coating to prevent it from rusting. And the oil is messy. So I took 1 star off. I wiped off all the oil and gave it to my daughter. She said it works so we will see. If it rusts, I will update my review and rating accordingly. BTW, the two legs are also very sharp, so be careful.
