Reviewing Mr. Pen- Convertible Compass, Extra Lead Refills, Compass Geometry Tool, Compass Drawing Compass, Geometry Compass, Math Compass, Drafting Compass Math, Drafting Tools, Math Compass for GeometryI find this compass to be a great little tool. I have purchased other Mr. Pen items and have never been disappointed. First off, the compasses of old were made of metal and I have memories of stabbing and poking myself all the time with the pointed compass foot. What I like about this compass is that the foot or point of the compass folds away after use so there’s not a chance of being poked. There is a lead tip inserted into the compass and it comes with two additional tips. This set includes a sharpener which has a small hole the size of the led tips. I also like that this set comes in a reusable storage case and also includes a protective tip for the lead tip. My purpose for ordering this compass is that I do a lot of crafting and sewing and I sometimes need a tool that will provide precision when needing to produce accurate curves and bends. This is an awesome tool for the price point and will more than meet my needs. I recommend this little handy compass!

I saw this foldable compact compass and had to have it. I was very pleased that it lived up to my expectations. It comes with a couple of extra graphite tips, protective cover for the writing tip and a sharpener. I’m an amateur woodworker and I like the fact that it’s small, when it’s folded up, and I can keep in my pocket when I’m working on a project needing curves or circles. It opens up to a max of 6” radius, which covers most of my needs. The retractable, or foldable metal pin arm is easy to deploy and has a positive lock when it’s put into position. I often have to set a radius and then duplicate that radius, so I don’t want the hinge to move once it’s set. I felt that it was a little loose but after a small tightening of a Philips head screw at the hinge, it was nice and tight and held my setting.The protective tip is a little difficult to snap on and off, so I don’t know if I’ll be utilizing it much which means I’ll probably be snapping that lead off when it’s in my pocket. Overall, I’m happy to have a small compass that’s large enough to handle my needs. It’s very nicely made.
