I didn't have any issues with these. They were both correctly formed at the tip and the handles were well affixed. I don't use mine for leather as I prefer to use a diamond shaped awl for leather work, but if you need a round hole, like going around a corner while saddle stitching, this will get the job done. I've been using mine for jewelry work and they work fine there too. I've used them for limited things like moving parts around while soldering, but they work just fine.
