We have had a Kasco Deicer (exact same model as this) and it kept popping the gfi breaker. I looked down at the motor tag and saw that we bought this in 2005 almost 20 years ago! We live in the Adirondack Mts where the winter is long and hard and the ice freezes a foot thick on our lake. It has worked flawlessly for almost 20 years in a row....WOW! We could have tried to repair but we decided to buy another Kasco. Not even a question.....Kasco is quality. Thank you.

One of those items that you must have for boat dock if you live in colder climate. Luckily has not been needed yet this season. Will update if it gets used.

I put it in the lake, so far so good. Let’s see what happens when the ice forms.

Arrived on time and worked like a charm. Frigid temps caused 4-5 inch thick ice around my dock. I cut a whole dropped in this de-icer and within a few hours ice was breaking up. I moved it to the other side them again to back and 36 hours later I had open water all around my dock!! A+++

Works great! The entire lake is frozen over, but my dock is still sitting in liquid. Suspended vertical about 6ft down its keeping ice clear on all sides. I’m so glad I’m not one of the people panicking about their dock right now. Super fast shipping too. Ordered about 11pm Friday, scheduled for Tuesday but showed up early on Sunday afternoon. Thanks!
