The best way to transmit audio from your Patio TV to the House Audio System. Take the Fiber Optic out of your TV and send it over cat 5 or 6 cable up to 328 feet. For best performance on all streaming platforms from YouTube to Amazon Prime, Set the TV audio output to PCM rather than Auto.

Item works well to transmit 2 channels of analog or 5 channels of digital audio over CATV5e/6 cable up to 300 meters. Conversion and transmission has very low latency. Power for transmitter and receiver can be input at either module, facilitating installation. The modules are well made with sturdy metal cases.

This newest model will take an analog or digital audio input. The transmitter is capable of converting an analog audio signal (or just a toslink digital) and then transmit that signal to a connected Cat (I was lucky - spares in my walls) to their receiver on the other side (powered over the cable) and either output to toslink, or as in my case, converted back to analog audio. It is as simple as plugging in power, plugging in audio on the transmitter; plugging in the Cat on both tx and rx; and plugging in the audio on the receiver. It just works. It took my analog audio (off Sonos speaker output) from where I had it in a headend closet across 50' to where I needed it at a reasonable cost - and I didn't have to pollute the house with more RF to do it). And it works perfectly - my analog > digital > analog conversion and route is crisp and clear. I detect no loss; no distortion; no additional signals. I should not that this is a direct cable - there is no router involved. Thanks Tech Digital for a truly great product.

I was able to test this extender only for a two channel analog input/output. I'd have tested digital if I'd been able to locate a second TOSLINK optical cable in my supply closet. The analog signal worked fine. I transmitted through a 50 foot cat6 cable between the transmitter and receiver and experienced no hiccups. The output sounded good in a pair of headphones plugged in at the receiver end.A few things of note: 1) The TOSLINK output port on the receiver does light up even with an analog connection. So it's live. 2) When I connected the TOSLINK port on the transmitter to the output of an extractor that outputs optical, the the still complete analog setup went dead. For me that means either the extractor or the transmitter in this pair made a choice to send only one signal, and it was optical over analog. That doesn't bother me at all, just letting you know.So the analog works and I have no reason to doubt the digital (optical/COAX) works also.Another item of note: the set comes with only one 12v wall wart. That's because this extender sends power over the Cat6 cable. You can attach the power at either end, which is convenient. I mention this because I didn't know this extender did this power sharing and at first thought the package was short one power supply, It wasn't.The instructions are usable, but you only figure out the power sharing when you read right near the end "Connect the power supply to the transmitter." and there's no sentence that says "Connect the power supply to the receiver." Nothing I could find in the manual told me I could connect the supply at either end. I knew to try it because I've got other devices that use the same kind of power sharing over Ethernet.

Works exactly as described, audio quality is great, used on an install to extract audio from a Samsung Frame TV into an analog system. Cat6 run was about 110ft and audio is crystal clear.

This device works as intended. The big issue I experienced is the level of volume which comes out. It is too low and you will need gain knob or signal booster to get it volume back up using the 3.5mm jack. If the volume level would remain the same this would be 5 Stars all day but having to add another cost of using this device has it at 3 stars.Thank you for taking the time to read my review and photos of this product. I hope it has been helpful in providing you with more information.
