Description:
This KLEAWARTE HDMI ARC audio converter can transfer the audio signal of a TV that supports ARC function to the SPDIF port, L/R port, coaxial port, 3.5mm headphone jack prot of the adapter through the ARC interface. Moreover, it supports optical or coaxial digital audio signal conversion. Its stereo analog signal can be output to optical/SPDIF coaxial stereo L/R 3.5mm Jack at the same time. It is designed for for home theater, teaching, training structure, conference room, home appliance and so on.
Connection and Operation:
1.Connect the HDMI port of adapter to the HDMI/ARC port of TV via an HDMI cable. Note: Please connect HDMI port with “ARC” mark.
2.Connect the optical fiber and coaxial input of the converter to the corresponding audio interface of DVD or PS3 through optical fiber cable and coaxial cable.
3.Use optic cable, coaxial cable or RCA cable and 3.5mm audio cable to connect to the amplifier system.
4.Connect the USB power cable to the Micro USB interface of the converter.
5.Switch to corresponding channel by toggle switch.

I realize it can be difficult getting an older surround sound system to work with a new smart tv, so I was very diligent to determine how to use this unit with no success. Some smart tvs are automatically setup to handle this type of hookup, however, many are not and it takes a lot of research and trial and error to try to make it work. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me.

I bought this in order to hook up a pair of powered studio monitors to my TCL Roku TV. I connected this to the TV's eARC port with an HDMI cable and connected the monitors with a pair of RCA to 1/4" TS cables. It worked immediately, easy peasy chicken squeezy! I didn't even have to set my TV's audio out to use eARC, it had already sensed that the port was in used and updated itself. Super simple solution for improved sound, and SO much better than the sound bar I've been using for the past few years.

This connector allows my Bose external speakers to play through the HDMI Arc pork but the tv will not play through the speakers if selected in settings. The in-tv speakers only play if the unit is unplugged or the hdmi cable is removed
