Ordered this to work around a broken 3.5mm audio receptacle on my TV. Works great, if anything it's better than what I was originally using in terms of sound quality. I had tried several HDMI type units without success but this did the trick. Plug and play. I think the trick was in getting a unit that had a decoder capability instead of simply a converter.

Solid built, High Fidelity.the included opto and audio Wires may not be long enough.of course the opto input as in any SPDIF volume is fixed, hence a volume adjustment at the audio end is good.

Smartly packaged product is formed sheet steel with good slightly textured finish and clear easy white font markings. The PROZOR Digital to Analog Converter takes optical or coaxial digital audio of various formats and outputs analog audio for interfacing with external equipment. For me I wanted a headphone output from a TV that only had optical. This adapter easily setup, powered and delivered a fully adjustable level, clear and of good quality. Plenty of power to drive full size heavy, over the ear headphones. These are AKG K340 electrostatic-dynamic monsters from the 1980s. I did have to supply my own headphone adapter cable that took the 1/8 inch (3.5mm) phone (RTS) female socket and upsized it to a standard 1/4 inch to interface with my antique cans. The Device powers with 5v DC via USB micro connection on the device. Included is a micro USB to USB A (standard full sized USB 1.0/2.0 connector) approx 14 inches long. My late model 16x9 LED TV is typical of 2018 products, missing many of the input/output connections of earlier systems. Audio output is always lacking on these displays, even though there is an internal tuner that provides HD video. Most people do NOT want to use the substandard, micro "full-range" speakers included in bargain LED TV's. It's better to run analog audio to an external amplifier and heavier speakers. This D>A converter provides that connection wonderfully. Small and compact, powers to what is almost always nearby on modern video monitors, connects to optical or coaxial services. Included is also a short satisfactory optical audio cable. Sidenote, the tips of new optical audio cables have a silicone protector over the metal sleeve. This keeps scratches from the fragile fiber optic tip. Remove the silicone protector prior to cable insertion or you'll push the PC board mounted connector off it's mount. The PROZOR D>A has a red LED indicator on the rear when it's receiving 5v from USB. There is no way to turn it off from the device. That would have been a nice feature with the volume potentiometer knob. Coax input is the standard single RCA connector. There is no included coaxial cable. In addition to the 3.5mm headphone output, it also provides simultaneous consumer line level audio at the two rear RCAs. The front face volume pot does not attenuate the output of the rear line level RCAs. I've run this device for hours with no overheating or failure. It's compact and a good addition to a trouble shooting audio bag. Highly recommended.

Awesome - works a treat! I'm not an audiophile, but have been an avid listener to an eclectic mix of music for 40+ years and have owned moderately high-end gear for many years: Cary tube amps, Cary tube preamp, Klipsch Cornwall speakers, NHT tower speakers, Arcam integrated amp, Audio Control Pantages amp, Golden Tube amp, B&O turntable, etc. Recently, I downsized my audio equipment and now mainly just listen to music from my desktop PC played through near-field Kef Q300 bookshelfs powered by the Pantages amp. I needed an external DAC that could accept a Toslink input and found the Prozor on Amazon and gave it a shot. I have been totally amazed at how well this unit works and especially sounds! Had originally planned this would just be a bridge device until I could research a higher end unit, but its performance has me rethinking my strategy - certainly in no hurry to replace it with anything 20 times more expensive. I know from past experience, I won't come close to receiving 20 times better sound. Besides the amazing detail produced in the data stream, the best thing about the Prozor is its invisibility - no sound is created by the device when nothing is being fed it. And, the volume control and headphone jack are gravy on this well-engineered metal cased unit.I have only had this unit for a few weeks and initially, I was going to send it back. It doesn't come with a power supply and I plugged the supplied USB cable into a USB 2 port on my PC and immediately got this very annoying low-level hum when no music was being played. The hum disappeared when the USB cable was unplugged, which pretty much confirmed it was coming from the Prozor. Fortunately, I eventually plugged it into a newly installed USB 3 port and was happily greeted by total silence. Its been silent ever since as long as it's plugged into a USB 3 port and not a USB 2 port. Strange, but absolutely true. Most audio reviews always include a qualifier stating how well the device being reviewed performs given its price level. No such qualifier needed for the Prozor - great sound - period!
