I work as an EMT and bought these for icy winter emergency calls. I have used them several times and found they go on very easily and store in my pocket. They also provide adequate grip on sheer ice on my patients' driveways. I like that they come in a storage bag that fits right in my pocket as well. I have only one complaint and that is the work their way off my toes fairly readily. I am considering making some type of heel strap to hold them on except that would defeat the purpose of putting them on quickly. They might work better for someone who has a fairly flat sneaker or shoe but they don't work well on the taper of my work boots.

I used to have cleats fastened to a rubber membrane that stretched over my boot. But they came in different sizes and my wife or kids couldnt use mine if they had to, and they were a real pain taking on and off. And you had to take them off when going inside, then put them back on when you went back out. These are totally different. They adjust to fit different size footware, and all you have to do when going inside is flip them up, then flip them down when you go back out. Totally easy. They work great on solid ice. I like them so much, I ordered several more pairs for family members.

Easy to put on and they provide traction. Good for walking on ice.

I am constantly going in and out of my house in the snow and these are very convenient. After I broke my collarbone slipping on ice I take the winters a lot more seriously. They work, are comfortable and are easy to switch from indoor to outdoor walking.

I put them on a pair of rubber snow boots. Great extra traction on ice and in snow. Easy to put on but a hassle to turn around for indoor use. Easier to just take 'em off. Still, I like 'em.

Our mailbox is at the top of some very steep concrete stairs. I think the stairs are small and old fashioned, but what they really are is a deathtrap when the weather turns icy.But these spikes kept me sturdy and on my feet. It says in the description that you can slide these around for when you head indoors, but I found it easier to just loosen the strap and pull them off of my boots (yep, I wore Keen heavy steel toe hiking boots WITH these spikes to walk upstairs).I don't know what kind of upgrade they can have that would make these more quickly adjustable (remember wheelies?) but I am more worried about preventing falls and I don't head in and out of the house on icy days so it didn't seem too inconvenient to me.
