Be very careful when cleaning near the gravel line.This little scraper/ scrubber has got to be the best product on the market for cleaning fish tank glass without getting your hands wet and with just one tool. However, I scratched my glass tank with this, I won’t say it was 100% the metal blade and could have been gravel. But I’ve heard that others say the metal can do that. I just couldn’t bring myself to return it as it works so well. I’ve tried gluing plastic home made slivers onto the blade to make my own plastic scraper and it works well, but it keeps falling off after scraping the tank a time or two, even when scoring the plastic and metal before gluing. I’ve decided to just use the soft side more often and be super careful with the metal blade only using it when necessary. I’m just surprised that flipper doesn’t make plastic blades for this product, it’s the only size that doesn’t get the plastic blade option. I may try 3d printing my own blades but I just don’t have the time to draw that up currently. Overall excellent design, and would be perfect if it had plastic blade options, yes even for glass tanks.

I had a normal magnetic algae cleaner/scraper for over a decade. I had to put so much muscle into it and it still barely removed algae. This one is magic, only requires 1 or 2 passovers and the algae is gone. Worth every penny.

I have a 10 gallon AIO and got this guy to clean the algee build up on the sides of the aquarium and it works perfectly. It gets the really tiny harder spots with the blade and everything else with the scrubber. This is like the perfect size for a 10 gallon tank and super easy to use. I don't leave it in the tank because salt water is just bad for stuff so be smart and just rinse off with water and take out after use. Replacement blades are kinda expensive but whatever, tank maintenance costs money, keeping a reef tank is a hobby that has its expenses, there really not like that expensive. This little guy works extremly well super happy with it. My tank is very clean and looks amazing and the fish are happy, everyone is impressed with how the tank looks after using this.

This is an absolute wonder in cleaning any size aquarium. But you need to choose carefully between nano, standard and max. Product is standard. Good for my 19mm glass. Even the hardest algae gets scrubbed off without any tiring and wet hands. My 150 gallon takes less than 2 mins to clean. It is costly, that's the only drawback. Even replacement blades are very pricey.

Had heard mixed reviews so waited more than a year to finally take a chance on buying this. It is definitely pricey for a glass cleaner but MAN OH MAN is it worth the money! Poor choices with rock placement left many areas of my tank inaccessible to the old magnetic scraper and scrapers on a stick that I had purchased previously. And my glass is very thick so the magnetic one struggled with all but the lightest of algae coatings. But this BEAST of a magnet (God help you if your fingers get caught between the two pieces!) and sturdy metal scraper end made quick work of stubborn coraline algae and thick green stuff in the previously unreachable corners, easily squeezed between rock and glass, and even got above the water line under my canopy. I've not quite figured out the flip technique, but I can't see any good reason to not just keep using it on the scraper side so it hasn't been an issue. In short, my tank has never been this clean and I HIGHLY recommend this product.

This is the best algae scraper/cleaner ever made. I had green algae on all sides of the glass of my tank and I had let it go for so long so it was caked on so much that my Mag-Float couldn’t even scrape off. However, the Flipper (the razor blade side) took care of it like a beast. My tank looks like new again and the glass and water is crystal clear. The Flipper is the best aquatic investment I’ve ever made. The price is a little steep and I only see paying $40 for an algae scraper as a last resort, as was the case with me. Overall, it’s a great product that works like a charm and I highly recommend it, especially for that caked on, stubborn algae that just won’t go away with those cheap, alternative algae scrapers/cleaners.

When looking at this and deciding to buy it, the price seemed rather expensive for what it is...basically a few magnets encased in plastic.And upon receiving it and opening the box, just looking at it -- I was less than impressed.But whoa!!That all changed the first time I used it!I have a 55 gallon planted goldfish tank that gets allot of light.And so stubborn algae on the glass has always been an big issue(Side note: I have been an aquariumist for over 37 years.....so I have seen and used allot of glass cleaners, including many magnet style ones.)Anyway, I opened the package and took it out and put it in the tank to use itStill thinking.... boy -- 39.00 seems like allot for this gizmo.ONE SWIPE.Yes folks... all it took just one swipe up and down the glass and I was hooked.One swipe up and down, using the "blade" side, took of almost ALL of the stubborn embedded algae that previously 10 min. of scrubbing had failed to remove.This scraper has an ingenious design-It has two little raised "bumps" on the blade side that make it press "nose down"on the glass at a VERY slight angle--Thus causing the blade "nose" of the scraper press on the glass with a bit more force than the opposite end of the scraper.It is hard to describe this unusual little feature, but you will see it when you examine the unit.And I feel this adds greatly to its effectiveness because it works like a charm!Plus, the magnets held fast on the 55 gallon tank I was using it on. They are definitely NOT weak magnets.It has very strong magnets.Some other features are:It is two sided (Hence the name "Flipper")Flip it over from the blade side, and it also has the conventional "scrub pad" side that is perfect for removing slime algae and film.It also comes with an interchangeable plastic scraper blade to use instead of the metal blade.You would use this plastic scraper blade plexi and acrylic tanks.I was very pleased and would recommend this scraper.Yes, it is kind of expensive for basically some magnets encased in a plastic shell....But you will easily get your moneys worth out of it just based on all the time you will save scraping your glass.It works very well!This is a good product.Cheers, Todd

This product is truly amazing. We have 210 gallon mixed reef and fish salt water aquarium with an increasing build up of purple algae near the bottom of the tank. We have magnetic scrapers and angled pole scrapers, but you really have to work at it to that stuff off -- sometimes for hours. 10 short minutes after un-boxing this scraper my wife tried it on the aquarium and finished an entire side and it looked beautiful, like the tank was brand new. This scraper took years of build up off in seconds, and you know what, for once it was actually fun to do the scraping. I love this product!
