We are using them to clean the water surface edge on the acrylic without dulling the finish on our hot tub. They work great, but they don't last long and I think it's worth noting that this 18 pack of pads are almost half the thickness of the original

These sponges work quite well while they last which isn’t that long

I have been cleaning algae off fish tanks for years, I have tried EVERYTHING on the market. Magnetic scrapers, plastic scrapers, credit cards, poly fill type sponges and while they mostly did the job with plenty of elbow grease, these hands down are the bomb! Gets algae off my acrylic tanks, decorations, rocks, wood, pipes and in all the little cracks and crevasses. Even the algae in the furthest hardest to reach (and less frequently cleaned) areas comes off! I wish I had known about these sooner because my maintenance time is so much shorter now. I’m going with the Seachem brand because I know there are no harmful chemicals. With the other name brand cleaners and generics I think it’s harder to know if there are detergents or whatever else to make them more effective. If you have light algae you can rinse and reuse, with heavier amounts use until it starts to fall apart ( don’t leave any bits in the tank!) and discard. Then do your water change as usual. I even use one on the outside to remove fingerprints - no scratching! Inside the tank be sure to not pick up any gravel which will scratch. That was a definite issue with the polyfill pads. These are worth every penny! Thank you to whoever came up with this product!

Yes you have to use your hand in the Aquarium...I call that bonding but this will not scratch glass or acrylic

I was using acrylic pads but, since I tried these I won’t use anything else. They are very easy to use and work amazing well. I highly recommend them.

These are the best for cleaning aquarium glass or acrylic. They don’t scratch and anything they remove tends to stick to the pad instead of floating back into the tank.

These algae pads work great but they are easily torn and have to be replaced often.
