I got this plastic water container for my mother who raises her own chickens. She is older and getting harder for her to water them daily. this will allow her to set it up with a hose end and keep them watered without having to be a constant process. She will have fresh water go into the pen and it has four spots where the hens can drink from. It is plastic so it can be knocked over and with time it may crack, but it will work great for her over the next year or two I am sure. I would suggest putting it in a spot where the sun is not directly over it, as that could cause some overheating of the water. She is in south MS where it gets pretty hot in the summer, so that is going to be a must do for us. The size is good. It will be easy to clean and holds a good 4-5 gallons of water at a time. She is very happy with this.

First of all, I haven’t set up the water float and hose extension yet because we have our hoses disconnected for the winter. I am just filling this as needed. I like that this is raised up off the ground quite a bit and keeps the water cups a little bit cleaner. The cup size is really nice and holds quite a bit of water for the chickens. Getting the legs to click in though was a little bit tricky. I had to muscle it quite a bit, but all in all seems like a great Chicken waterer and if you can get this on sale, it’s an even better deal.

I got this to replace my outside the coop water dish I fill daily for my birds. I do think the plastic is sturdy enough to last in the brutally hot weather where I live, and the directions for assembly are clear and easy. But, the connections need rubber washers and silicone tape to prevent leaking. The provided hose also does not fit my outdoor hoses/faucets, which requires the use of an adapter piece and increase the chance of leaking. And, I would appreciate if the feet had holes where I could drive a metal stake through them into the ground for added stability.
