We’ve had many watering systems for our chickens over the years. By far, this one is the best one we have ever used. Easy to install, easy to fill, and great for the chickens.

I have 8 chickens and 2 Guinea hens. I was filling a water bowl 1-2 times per day. With this I only fill up once per week. It took the chickens a few days to figure out how to use it.

Just bought the 3rd one in 8 years. I love this waterer. My favorite feature is the cups are elevated and the bottom has "feet". No leaking. Easy for the birds to use. 3asy to clean. Strong, stury long lasting.

This is actually the second time we purchased this for our chickens. First one broke due to a freeze while we were out of town. We were a little worried the birds would struggle to learn to use this after using a gravity style waterer for so long. We were wrong, the bird brains actually figured it out fine. We have a total of 8 birds and we fill it up once a week. Depending on who fills it up and closes the lid depends on how often it needs to be cleaned. For the most part it stays pretty clean. The cups were easy to thread in and we’ve never had to replace them. This style of waterer is perfect for your back yard chickens.

This abreuvoir was perfect until the gaskets behind the cup-a-water start to leak !!! We even replaced the gaskets but it didn't fix the issue. I do not recommend this product and if I could I would ask for my money back.

This is the 2nd one of these I’ve had. We had 8 chickens originally and now we have three. It works well for both of those numbers. We had the first one for probably a year when it fell from a platform I set it on briefly, while full of water, and cracked all the way down. After looking into making a waterer out of a bucket and getting the nipples, etc, this was so much more convenient and the price difference between this and a DIY was minimal. And it’s so easy to clean!Seriously love this thing. Who knew I could feel so passionately about a chicken watering system?

I love the idea of this water. I love the hard plastic because it’s easy to clean. I think it took my chickens a while to figure out how to get the water to come out. I do like that it does not hold water in the drinking cups. That seems to keep the flies away. My biggest complaint is that the first time I used it I managed to strip the threads on the drinking cup on one side. I had to get plumbers tape and use that to seal the leak. I was a little frustrated that I had to do that with something that cost that much money.Other than that, I love it. The handle and hook are very sturdy, it’s lightweight, easy to unhook turn upside down and clean out the whole thing. I definitely recommend this, just be very careful when you’re putting in the drinking cups and don’t overdo it.

This is a good product but I wish it came in a larger size, both in terms of gallons and in terms of how many cups. The stickers plastered all over the product proclaim that you can add more cups, but where? how? good luck adding a cup without tearing up the container and the plastic breaking. Also had a problem with the first (I have 3 now) when we had a freeze and the cup would't quit leaking afterwards. Other brands with different style of cups (such as rent a coop automatic waterer) did not have any problem even though they are much older than the Harris Farms product. It would also be nice if you got an extra cup with the product (again, Rent a Coop provides 5 cups with its product so you always have an extra. Not having reliable water for the chickens is really not acceptable but when the cup leaks like that, you lose all the water quickly and then your chickens don't have any water). My main complaint is the stickers. I already bought it - why do you need to glue huge stickers on each side? And why do you glue them on? If you really think it necessary to put something on the container, how about a plain piece of paper fastened with one piece of tape? The user doesn't want to leave the stickers on because they get filthy and then its impossible to clean, but it shouldn't take 30+ min to remove the darn things!

I bought this waterer to help keep our hens watered and easy to clean. However, the drinking cups were not good. Before you tell me chickens have to be taught, etc. I tried. We either have bird brain chickens or the design is poor. We showed them how to peck the yellow thing, and they did. But after four or five pecks and barely a dribble of water, they looked at it upside down like "what am I doing wrong?" I ended up spending the day going out there, showing them, and then just holding the yellow tab down to fill the water. I was disappointed. However, there is a remedy because the pail itself is pretty solid (although it should be blue to prevent algae growth,) and that remedy is buy different cups. After talking with a friend, she was confused why there were yellow tabs at all and pointed me in the direction of auto-fill cups that work off weight of water in the cups (lots of weight = full; as the chickens drink, the cup gets lighter and triggers a refill.) I bought them (not this company), removed the yellow tab cups, and used the new ones. Voila! Works like a charm.

I have this waterer and another bowl of water for 50 chickens in their coop, and they caught on fast on how to drink from the little cups. the cups leaked a bit but I put food grade grease on the rubber seals as they weren't sealing due to a rough edge on a seal and it fixed it just fine.

I bought it for the 3 weeks old chick and they figure out very quickly how to get the water . The only think is I wouldn’t use it for chick less than 3 weeks. May be this is why some people loss some of their chicks.

Love this waterer, and so do my hens. They caught onto it right away. It is so nice to have the water stay clean--easy to fill and love that the shape is not round, like most waterers. It fit snugly against the side of the coop. The nipple/cup is easy to install (just screws in) and there was no leak in either of the two waterers I purchased. Although the cups can be taken off to clean, I found that they flushed out easily with the hose, so have not needed to remove them since I installed them. Would definitely buy again, and in fact will be looking at buying the winter version of these (plug in) in fall.
