Featuring Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM) technology, the FLIR MR176 helps you quickly scan and target moisture issues, visually guiding you to the spot where you can confidently take measurements and analyze readings. An integrated pinless sensor and an external pin probe provide the flexibility to take either non-intrusive or intrusive measurements. Coupled with a field-replaceable temperature and relative humidity sensor, and automatically calculated environmental readings, the FLIR MR176 delivers added convenience and ease of use, producing the right measurements faster. Note: Pin Sensor measurements are provided as a percentage of moisture content; Pinless Sensor measurements are provided as a relative value requiring comparison to a known dry surface. This Thermal Imaging Product with a frame rate of 9Hz or less are controlled by the U.S. Department of Commerce and classified under Export Control Classification Number (“ECCN”) 6A993.a for U.S. export control purposes and may not be exported, re-exported, or transferred to a “Military End-User” in any country except the U.S. or Canada, except as approved under a U.S. export or re-export license. “Military End-User” means national armed services (army, navy, marine, air force, coast guard), national guard, national police, government intelligence or reconnaissance organizations. Military End-User also means any person or entity whose actions or functions are intended to support Military End-Uses. Man am I ever upset I bought this for $1,100.00 the thermal imaging look terrible you can use an app for $20 with better quality and I own a few FLIR products. I can’t believe. I was so excited to get this and to be let down. No software to download for reports so that was BS and the actual moisture meter on the back works very slowly. Turning now. It’s a waste for money

I have been carrying out damp surveys for more than 25Years. The concept is good but the meter ergonomics a disaster as to analyse the defect you need multiple readings on various surfaces with not straightforward way of changing between scan mode and pin mode (measure). The scan mode sensor is flush with the back as is the IR camera (which has no protection) good in the office but not on site.I the infrared part is extremely poor, and the image quality/processing is not sufficient for diagnosis of a defect.

For this price I expect a product that 'works' and lasts.. I had to return the first one received because it wouldn't register moisture levels unless fully saturated, which is a problem for a moisture meter (!).... The second one has similar issues too. Which means I always have to carry a second moisture meter to get correct readings. Grrr.Another associate has one and they have the same problems. That's three for three in spotty quality...Now, after trying to figure out why it has been so problematic to actually get it to re-charge (which hasn't lasted more than one hour of use at a time), the internal plug disconnected inside the unit. So that solves the question as to why it wouldn't charge right: it was not put together well :-(For nearly $1000, it has been a severe disappointment.

Ok, I actually bought this unit in October and have used it less than I thought I would but it has come in handy plenty of times. Sorry, vine people shouldn't be able to give a star value because their opinions are biased. Getting a product for free excludes you from being truly unbiased.My unit is heading to Flir for service because the pinless moisture meter is reading over 20% throughout structures while the pinned shows zero.one issue I have with this unit is that in pinned mode if moisture is less than 7%, it will read zero. That makes you have to guess at lower moisture levels.The unit is rugged and feels good in hand. My customers really like to be able to "see" what I'm looking for before we open walls. That being said, the ir camera is the most basic Flir offers so I also purchased a Flir One which has a better camera and using it with a IPad, customers really like the better resolution as do I.I will update my review after I get my unit back, I really wanted to give 3.5 stars here but didn't have that option.

Moisture feature is very good. IR is little below average. I bought for the moisture features and I have a thermal camera already. If I was relying on the thermal of this unit I would not be as happy.

Appareil de très bonne qualité, fidèle à la société FLIR. J'utilise cet appareil dans le cadre d'expertises dans le domaine de la construction, j'en suis trés content et il demeure avec moi tous les jours dans mon sac. L'image thermique est correct mais ne vous attendez pas à du haut de gamme. Les mesures prises à l'aide de l'humidimètre capacitif sont viables : j'ai contrôlé les valeurs avec un second appareil. En conclusion c'est pour moi l'appareil idéal pour les experts dans le domaine du bâtiment. En revanche le prix est proportionnel à la qualité du produit.
