I first saw this at a craft store, and the price was hefty. I searched Amazon and found that the price was VERY good. The only thing that's a downer is the light weight and will tilt a bit. I only use this trimmer for medium chipboard

Tried another guillotine cutter from a vendor that delivered well before but not for the guillotine paper cutter. Got a refund for my first try and immediately searched for and found this one. I was looking for a relatively lightweight paper cutter with a smallish footprint, safety features and fairly low price tag. This one is working well for me. Like most guillotine cutters I have used in the past, it is best to put a little pressure on the handle in the direction of the table for a consistent true cut. This tends to be less of an issue with the very large heavy cutters. So it's a choice between weight and size and less attention to your cutting style. I prefer this cutter size and weight even if I have to pay a little more attention to how I handle the blade arm as I cut.

Blade is very sharp, cuts well, and through more than I sheet at a time.

There are better ones out there, Including older versions of this product. I loved my old xacto paper cutter. There is literally no way to get a straight cut. There is no ruler on the top to see if your measurement is aligned with the same ruler on the platform. Even with the vertical locking guide, you will not get straight cuts, just too much flex in the platform. There is also some kind of dust or dirt that comes off the platform withevery use, even after cleaning. The only pros is that it is sharp and lightweight. Would not recommend.**added since using for a couple months** DO not waste your time with this trimmer. It is by far the most frustrating trimmer I have used. EVER! Even with a little bit of personal adjustments ( holding paper, etc.) It just will not cut straight. There is a gap at the top that makes the paper bend and lift, so it gets air under the paper with the arms downward motion. Grrrrr.... waste of time and money constantly re-trimming! DO NOT BUY***

I bought this to make fliers and such for my business. I am glad I chose this one. Blade is sharp and the grids make the cut straight. Ive had this almost 2 years now and it's awesome.

Does the job. Few times the cut hasn't been perfect, but the price is ok and even though is plastic, is tough plastic.

This paper cutter weighs less than a pound, stores easily in the smallest space and cuts beautifully. I highly recommend it. The price is right. Don't let the plastic scare you away. Working in the graphic arts field, I've used many different cutters., from Xacto knives to cumbersome Wood and steel cutters - this little dude is now an important member of the cadre of tools available at my desk. The Prime shipping program got it to me in TWO days with no shipping charge, That and the huge spectrum of merchandise available at Amazon - at value pricing - makes it my first "go to place" when a need arises.

When you get a paper cutter, you expect accuracy right. You expect better cuts then you would get from a scissors and a pair of hands. You won't find that here. Best case scenario is you will get something equal to what you get with scissors and two hands. Worse case scenario, you will get something that is destroyed and unusable.Well you get what you pay for, as the old saying goes. I expected a little more but I got very little. I was hoping maybe all the other negative reviews were wrong. They were not. The cutter has a multitude of flaws. These flaws make cutting with a scissor more accurate and easy then using a paper cutter. Now tell me how that is even possible. Let me say one good thing, the blade is sharp. Thats about it for the good. The machine design makes it impossible to get a good straight line. Air can form under the paper as the blade is coming down causing the paper to bubble up. That destroys your straight line. The layout on the paper cutter is so weakly designed that even if you avoid the air under the paper. Your line may still not stay straight. Because though your mind would swear that the paper is perfectly aligned. Apparently it is not. A paper cutter is supposed to take the stress out of making good cuts that you experience when trying to use an inaccurate pair of scissors and human hands. This paper cutter adds more stress. Trying to line it up perfectly and all that. Its a single piece of paper I'm working with, I just want a straight line. It can't do that. A problem I experienced, I can't tell if it is just a random occurance, a product of the item being cheap or if somehow it has a built in lock mechanism. But the blade would lock up on me. If I opened the blade all the way, it locked. Then I couldn't come down with the blade without jostling it out of its locked position. Well that posses more then just an annoyance, I found the best way to get good cuts was to raise the blade all the way. Once it got locked, I could no longer raise the blade all the way. Removing the best chance I had of getting a good straight cut. That brings another problem to light. The instructions. Good lord, they are poor. I mean something so simple shouldn't need much instructions but you do need to connect the handle (it comes seperate in a box) and you need to connect the paper guide (comes in a plastic bag). Well the instructions don't tell you how, they don't show you how, they don't explain anything properly. I was able to figure it out. But the instructions will not provide help in making this a better machine. They are as worthless as the machine is. Since this says it can cut two papers at one time, I decided to try it. You know just for a laugh since I couldn't cut one paper accurately, imagine what would happen with two. Exactly what I expected. The first paper cut was average, a little off as expected. The second one below was even less accurate and off the line. Mind you, I was trying, very hard to keep the paper lined up well and to cut it exactly the right way. No matter how hard I tried, the line was either crooked, even curved thanks to the air getting under and causing a bubble effect. A mess. The cutter as far as build quality is very cheap, that is apparently just from the box. The box looks like it was something thrown together at the last second, busting at the seems ready to fall apart. The machine is just a lump of plastic, that seems like it could break at any second, heck maybe that handle broke on me, if so, it did so on the second paper I worked on. Took one piece of paper to break it. That's amazing. This cutter is being returned, I got nothing out of this machine. I highly recommend people looking for accuracy and control. To look elsewhere. This is not your answer. This is a headache.

I was in dire need of a good paper cutting device I had two paper trimmers already, but was having to measure things out precisely, then do the cutting almost on a sheet by sheet basis. After purchasing this cutter, I was immediately relieved of my frustration of moving at such a slow pace. The only thing that didn't work out well for me with this cutter was that the only assembly required was putting a small little screw into the handle to keep it in place. The screw came already in the handle, it was just a matter of sliding the handle grip onto the handle and screwing it in place; the screw wouldn't come out the other end. I fought with it for about half an hour before rigging it McGuyver-style in order for me to have a handle on the cutter. It works great as if the screw had fit in perfectly. I know how to screw in a screw, and there was something either wrong with the screw or the hole, but it just didn't work. The blade is super sharp and works awesomely! I can't imagine what my project would've been like if I had bought this awesome cutter!
