These are the aluminum covered strings and they are more mellow than the silver covered strings. With a perlon core they still excel in sound quality.

Ok I will take the majority of fault on this because I know nothing about string instruments and ordered this for my daughters Viola. When the package front and title of Amazon ad says stringS, I took that as more than 1 string 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I am in community orchestra and these strings work he best for me. We play mostly college level and unabridged editions of the classical reportoire and theses strings bring out the musicality of the pieces for me. My viola is a very intermediate model, nothing special but these strings make it sound the best it can sound.
