My old brake pad spreader is breaking. It has served me well, but it is time for a replacement. This spreader is narrower than my other spreader. The handle is easier to grip, so compressing the caliper should be easier. My only concern is the pivot foot that pushes the caliper.I have seen these wear and break off other tools that use this design. But I am confident that if that happens, I will find a workaround. And for the price, it is not a bad deal

Sometimes simple little tools like these are all you need to make a job easy. In the past I've used c-clamps to squeeze the cylinder back in, but this tool is all you need and it does it better and faster.I don't know if it works on all cars, but on mine it did and it make pad changing at least 25% faster as I didn't have to fumble with the C-clamps.Highly recommended for the DIY'er.

This Compression tool took forever to arrive for me, but it did do its job and helped with compressing a brake caliper. It would be nice if the handle was a little better or had better leverage to make it easier on your hand, but it wasn't a huge deal. It is simple, cheap, and effective.

It is a basic, it is built strong, and it works. This tool is used to compress a brake caliper when replacing brake pads. Make sure to use the inboard brake pad to act as a shim when compressing the piston. This is even more important when you have calipers that have dual pistons. The tool should easily be able to press the caliper piston back into the caliper body. if you feel a lot of resistance, you should consider that your caliper piston is seizing and will need the caliper replaced soon. I used to use a large C-clamp in the past and while it is reliable it requires a bit of work to place it just right and hold it in place until you tighten it some for it to stay in place. This tool fits right in and just works.

This is a very basic version of a brake piston compressor, and it makes the job much easier than trying to squeeze a c-clamp or something in there. This tool is a great value for a super specific job. I would only spend more than this if you are changing brake pads regularly as a side income. Otherwise this tool is great!

The Brake Caliper Piston Pad Compression Tool is not heavy duty. I don't know how long it will last. The plastic turn knob look flimsy but work for now. Overall, this tool design for DIY, look flimsy but workable.
