This is a great tool but it didn't work for the vehicle I was replacing the brake pads on. On my Hyundai Santa Fe, the tool was too thick as its smallest to fit in the calipers. I'm sure it would work just fine with a larger vehicle. It is super easy to use and would come in handy,

It's too small, the tool works pretty good

This caliper tool is awesome! Especially helpful for those dual piston calipers. Build is high quality and easy to use. Wish i would have purchased this years ago.

I had never used this kind of tool for brake calipers before. It worked better than I thought it would, but I wish that the magnets were a little bit stronger, but I understand they can't be too strong or else it doesn't work completely. For the money these are great and good for the novice mechanic.

Awesome tool to add to my brake changing arsenal of tools. A lot easier than using a C-clamp. When I used it the first time, I didn't realize that one side is connected with a magnet allowing for easy removal and installation. The removable plate allows a ratcheting wrench to be used.I just completed the front brakes on my friend's 4 piston caliper and this tool worked like a champ! Recommended.

I like that it pushes pistons back evenly and save less time on changing brakes, no more c-clamps with this tool and save you time and money in the long run. Very well built

Picked this item up for an upcoming brake job on my vehicle. I have been doing brakes on my cars since I was young and I thought I would give a brake caliper compression tool a try. I found this item while doing searches for brake pad caliper compressor tools, and they had a good video so I thought I would check it out. I know that I usually use a c-clamp with one of the old brake pads for this procedure so I have a good "general knowledge" or idea of how much space is needed to get an item like this inside the caliper. I also know enough about doing brakes to know whether or not an item like this is going to work. This item was much larger than I expected when it arrived, and I'm afraid it won't fit, which would mean I would still have to use a c-clamp to open the caliper up enough to get this compressor in there... As it turns out the minimum allowable space, or the MINIMUM tolerance between the two plates on this device are set very far apart and this immediately poses a problem for me.Just for reference I own a 2022 Kia Soul LX.It sort of defeats the purpose when, if I'm going to use a c-clamp, I use the c-clamp and then have to change tools in the middle of doing the work just because it is designed to do the work?If you don't understand, what I mean is that I don't know why they made the minimum tolerance on this device so wide (LxWxH). The minimum tolerance only has to be as wide as the rotor and the tolerance on this device is almost 3 times that width. As a matter of practicality, this device is a good idea, and if it fits your situation it will work. Compared to other competitor products this device is a little more difficult to use since the only mechanical advantage you have is the screw in the middle. You still have to use an open ended wrench (which some people may not even have) and you still have to do the work yourself. Other competitor products work on the same premise as a caulk gun, using a trigger to gently spread the caliper and is much easier.Others, who have particularly stubborn calipers may find value in this item because it does allow you "brute force" your calipers into their opened state. However, I've personally never encountered this issue unless the caliper was seized, and in that case the caliper should be replaced anyhow.Overall, I think this is a genuine product. It is made from premium materials and should sustain any abuse you can put it through. The device itself doesn't take up much storage space and should be easy enough to use for anyone, just make sure you have an open ended wrench that will fit the device before you decide to use it.I gave the device a 5 star rating because it is a premium device and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I won't disregard this product because of my comments on the size, because that in it self is going to be a situational issue that may ONLY apply to me.

Used this to do the brakes on my wife's car. Much easier than the old C-clamp method of trying to compress the caliper piston that always is a hassle. Simple separate the halves of the tool, slip a ratcheting wrench over the hex head and put it back together and insert into the caliper. Then use the ratcheting wrench to expand the tool pressing the caliper piston back into the housing. Simple as that.Seems well enough made and worked perfectly for my needs. Not sure it would hold up to daily use by a mechanic but I don't think that's the target audience anyway. More of a DIY tool. So it that's you then I'd recommend this tool as it's inexpensive and gets the job done.
