Works quite well so long as you're not plugged into a timer/light sensor - it apparently has no memory built in, so each and every day now I have to remember to turn the connected lights on, and then reset the brightness to a manageable level. Would be 5/5 if it had that, but as I said, it does work well.

Works great with my outdoor string lights as a remote switch, but the dimming range is limited so not much of a dimmer?All in all, I give it 5 stars for quality and that I care more for remote operation than dimming.

I had this remote/dimmer/switch mounted in a covered area to control my outside string of lights. It's a vacation home, so we don't go and stay there all that often. After 3 month of basically sitting there and having been turned on/off a dozen times, it now is dead. Nothing. Nada. Of course my return date is long past and gone so .... stuck with a worthless paperweight.I suggest you spend some extra $$$ on something much more reliable.

I needed a dimmer for some string lights on my back fence. First I tried one of the fancier ones that operate via an app on your phone. But it said I was supposed to change the setting on my router to make it compatible, which I wasn't excited about. And along the way I decided having to open up an app on my phone to turn my lights on and off, while kinda cool I guess, actually wasn't all that convenient.So I sent it back and bought this dimmer with an old-school remote and I love it!Very easy to set up. Just hold the button on the main unit as you plug it in, wait a few seconds for the light to start flashing, and then press any button on the remote. Viola, it is paired and ready to go. I set the whole thing up in about 2 minutes out of the box and most of that was just was just walking into the backyard haha.And it works great! Turns the lights on and off and dims the lights as advertised. Plenty of increments so you can have the lights as bright or dim as you like. And the remote works over a long range, even if I'm inside and on the opposite end of the house with multiples walls and electronics between the remote and receiver.I would definitely but another one if I had a use for it. Good product for a good price!

Used this to tone down some extra brigh LED Christmas tree lights. I took one star off for the remote feeling a little cheap, lightweight and something I feel is lesser in quality than the main unit, which is heavy, solid and made of thick plastic.I’d make it a 1/2 star off if i could, because this did just what i needed, and i am satisfied. We will see how the remote holds up in the next few years.
