Purchased two of these for use on a transmission cooler. Both suffered failure at the point where the wire harness entered the motor (one could manipulate the wires harness at the insertion point and get the fans to start). Probably a simple fix, but the motor housing is not a consumer-serviceable component. So now I have two dead fans and an overheated transmission.

Used as a puller through an under-bed remotely-mounted plate-type trans cooler in my S10. Set up on a relay with a Derale 16730 fan switch in a 6AN to 6AN x 1/8NPT adapter screwed into the trans cooler (mounted 1 ft forward of the rear on drivers side) and plumbed with 6AN PTFE-lined braided hose to the trans. Now trans cooling does not affect my engine cooling, and trans temp never gets above 190F - even with my converter that stalls at 4100 rpm. This little fan really pulls the air and is reasonable quiet.

It can be made into a pusher but you have to move fan motor back about 1/4 inch after you reverse the fan blade, follow instructions to make a pusher. Then you need to take two screws off that hold fan in place add a spacer to move fan motor so you gain clearance between radiator and fan blade you also need to get two new longer screws to make up for the spacer difference between the fan motor and plastic housing.

This model can not be made into a pusher fan despite what the description says. Fan blades are non reversible.

The direction of rotation can be changed by reversing polarity but the fan blades themselves can't be turned around, so the fan is less efficient when spinning in the reverse direction. Larger fans from this series are fully reversible.
