Purchased 1st unit all excited to try it, turned the unit on went through setup as requested. Unit leaked water all over the counter. Package up send unit back via Amazon with no issues from Amazon. As De longhi is suppose to be a quality product and I did like the option on the unit.Returning it, I was thinking about replacing with similar produnct , but after experiencing same issue as other person, I am just returning.

This machine is high quality. I bought a smaller espresso maker in another brand for just $20 dollars less, but the first one I received didn’t work at all. I tried again and the machine gave me a cold cup of espresso. So I tried this brand after reading multiple reviews, and I am very pleased. The crema is great. I use cream in my espresso and it’s like having a dessert each morning.I got away from using Keurig and Nespresso. Too much plastic in aluminum in our food and drinks. If you love espresso, this is a great machine for the price point.

**PSA: If your machine leaks is because you did not remove the very bright red seal that it points to be removed in several occasions with different instructions and eveb stickers, during setup**I did research for weeks which was hard because the machine was released recently. But I am very pleased with my purchase.Excellent quality and value for a *home* espresso machine. Espressos are flavorful and crema is great as long as you know how to dial your puck. Think a mix of Dedica arte and ECP 3630 but with a thermoblock.I haven't seen any bottomless or naked portafilters yet for this machine, so I can't speak about the quality with an unpressurized filter but overall is a well rounded machine.I recommend doing all your espressos and then steaming milk and do purge your wand before starting so you don't get any extra water inside (people that complain about this, most high end machines recommend purging!)The panarello wand is not necessarily a flaw but if you want to do latte art. Probably better to detach the panarello, the wand gets milk too hot too fast and too much aeration comes in. (I don't recommend as it could void your warranty, and you need to secure it to prevent injury. just stating it can be done for the curious)Also recommend doing several rinses to prime the machine. I have not experienced any plasticky flavor.Don't expect la marzocco espresso quality, but closer to the bambino functionality and flavor, except for the panarello. Great value.

Update: I am unable to use my taller or reusable take along cups in this. The height between the base of the unit and where the espresso comes out doesn’t have enough space. My low to mid height cups are fine. I am still tinkering with the milk. I wish it would get a little warmer than it does. There doesn’t seem to be a post use cleaning mode for the milk nozzle so I have taken apart to wipe down and then put back together. I find the milk attachment to be a bit clunky and confusing to use.Just made my first cappuccino with this. It has a nice flavor. There is some undertones of maybe new espresso maker taste. So I will update this as I brew a few more if that undertone goes away.A standout feature is the milk was VERY easy to clean the wand off which is not at all my experience with another brand espresso maker that I have.It was easy to assemble and I appreciate the stickers with the details about what to remove, attach and other details. The instruction manual is not laid out in a manner that I find super helpful to start. I put the pieces I needed to together and washed everything. I had to jump around the pages a bit because instructions are here. Then images to refer to are a few pages back. I just skimmed the details I needed to make my capucino. To use it the first time, you press the power button. Then wait for all of the lights to stop blinking. That signifies that the machine is up to speed/warmed up/ready to brew. I pressed 1 cup for espresso. I also had the 1 cup for the espresso filter in with espresso. They did a wonderful job incorporating a lot of easy to recycle materials into the padding around the espresso machine. I love to see a lot of cardboard and easy to recycle items. The plastics are all the type I can take to recycle at our grocery store.I am on the fence if I would order again or recommend. I will update this review as I gain more experience and try different things with the machine.
