I'm not expert at making espresso (and not a particularly sophisticated espresso drinker!). But I did take some espresso-making classes a few years ago and I remember the basics. As an amateur espresso maker, I'm very pleased with this machine. I love how small it is. Fits on my counter easily. Very well engineered, high-quality. Very attractive, with glossy black finish that nicely sets off all the stainless steel components. Easy to use, very easy to clean. Great value—looks and feels like it should cost a lot more.It makes really good espresso. I added an upgraded portafilter but it doesn't make espresso as good as the one that came with it. The 51mm portafilter holds 8 g of coffee for the single and 15 g for the double filter. Expresso takes 15 seconds for a single, 25 for a double but you can adjust these time using the PROGRAM feature. One thing to know: The machine can overheat but the instructions tell you how to avoid that: Pull your espressos first, before you do any milk foaming. If it does overheat (the OVERHEAT light flashes), remove the portafilter and push SINGLE to empty the tank and it will cool down faster. You have to read the instructions to know this (which I didn't), so there you go!The machine has lots of nice design touches. A flip lever holds the filter in when you knock out the used grounds. The catch basin under the cup comes off by just lifting, for easy cleaning. A float inside causes a red button to show on the drain pan when the catch basin is full. Clever and works great. Comes with a plastic tamper/spoon combination. It has a cup heater plate on the top but it doesn't get very warm, even after a long time.Large water tank on the back means you don't need to fill it very often but do keep an eye on it—there is no warning when it's near empty so you may ruin a cup of espresso. The frother works very well. The manual is well written and illustrated but it only shows how the machine works—it doesn't tell how to make espresso. A QR code on the side of the machine goes to the online instructions, which is a clever idea but the online manual is the same as the printed manual and they could have a How to Make Espresso video, how to make espresso drinks, or espresso making techniques. Go to a video site and find some basic espresso-making tutorials. When I took the classes years ago, I realized it is pretty easy to make a really good espresso—but very hard to make a truly, over-the-top great one, unless you become a real coffee nerd! So grab this wonderfully value-priced machine and be thrilled with what you get so easily.

This is a nice compact espresso machine that is super-easy to use. And it will make a LOT of espresso at once if you have company. I've had machines before that were almost too difficult to use for a simple double shot and they just kind of got given away. This little machine, that doesn't take up much space, changes that. Use good water and good coffee and you will be getting that sweet caffeine almost effortlessly.

This is my first espresso home machine so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. After putting it all together which was pretty easy, I made a latte. The directions were detailed and easy to follow. The machine itself is a little louder than I expected. But, it got the job done and my latte was excellent. It was easy to clean up and I can't wait to use it too. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long.

This is a good "entry-level" Espresso machine for those that have a caffeine itch but may not want to spend $600+ as a first pass.We got this for an aunt who loves her morning brew. The machine does everything she needs and more.Setup was pretty simple. Unpackage the machine, fill up the water tank, and plug it in. From there, it's simply a matter of selecting your favorite roast, grinding it, and placing it into the basket. The machines comes with everything you'll need. Including a distribution and tamping tool. I recommend buying a better version of these down the road but, for included accessories, they're perfectly usable. The espresso is nice and rich with the option to do single or double shots. The controls are intuitive and require little in the way of instructions. That's not to say it comes without instructions. Of course, it does.Overall, this is a great machine for anyone that wants to try making their own espresso but may not want to invest $600+.

This is a very nice little machine that makes excellent espresso in very simple steps. It has a small footprint (only 11" x 9" and 12" tall) it can fit under a cabinet or on a coffee bar quite easily. This little unit only uses ground coffee - no pods, and includes simple tools to make either a single or a double espresso. The settings screen is very simple to use. You can customize the pour time depending on the intensity you prefer for your coffee. The milk steamer is very handy and does a nice job steaming the milk if you use it. I prefer my espresso black and don't use it a lot, but hubby does and he really enjoys it, especially when frothing eggnog to put in his coffee. The water reservoir holds quite a lot of water, and has a nice little attachment on the top so that when you open the lid you can just fold it over instead of lying on the counter. The reservoir is also simple to remove for cleaning as well. The portafilter has a nice little mechanism on it it that grabs the basket when you go to empty the grounds, helping you not dump the basket along with the puck. This machine makes excellent coffee. I typically make mine into an Americano or Un café allongé which is my favorite of all coffee drinks. I am pleased with this, it's a quality machine with simple features.
